To Prospective Student – Athletes: At Illinois Wesleyan University, we make a dual promise. First and foremost, you will receive an outstanding education. Second, we will make your varsity experience a big-time event throughout your undergraduate career. As a Titan athlete, you will achieve success in the classroom and on the playing field. In 2012-13, seven Illinois Wesleyan teams were involved in NCAA postseason competition, and IWU sent individuals to NCAA championships in men’s track, women’s swimming and men’s swimming. Of the 446 Division III schools in the country, the Illinois Wesleyan athletic program finished in the top 10% in the 2012-13 Division III Learfield

Academic All-Americans®

Since the program began in 1970, 115 Illinois Wesleyan students have been named Academic All-Americans®, a total that is 12th among all participating colleges and universities.

Sports Directors’ Cup final standings, marking the fourth straight year IWU has finished in the top decile nationally. Recently, senior runner Tara Clemens was named to Capital One Academic All-American® squads for women’s track & field/ cross country. Earlier this year, senior Danny Kenny was a first team honoree for men’s soccer. Our commitment to the student-athlete continues to be supported by all of our coaches. As a Titan, you will not be asked to miss class for practice, and we try to avoid class conflicts when scheduling away-game travel plans. Our coaches are competitive and want to win, but our top priority is your education.
