Course Overview People identified as strong communicators rise in any organisation or business. It is a myth that good presentations are made only by people born with a natural gift. All of us can become both competent and confident when speaking to either a large audience, chairing a meeting or making face-to-face presentations with the management team. The techniques used on this course are based on research into audience reactions to different styles of speaking – so coaching is geared to the actual likes and dislikes of audiences. The audience will see a speaker who can conduct a lively, interesting session; a speaker who has the confidence to ‘think on their feet’, yet remain poised and in control.

Course Objectives This course aims to help you: • Learn to speak as clearly as you think • Be clear – make an impact – be yourself • Realise your true potential as a powerful and persuasive speaker in a variety of settings • Master your nerves and present with clarity in front of any sized group • Get your messages across with impact • Speak with greater conviction and authority • Increase your personal impact and become more influential • Persuade your audience and gain buy-in and commitment • Develop a more confident and persuasive vocal style • Feel comfortable about speaking in any situation • Develop strong messages and engage your audience at meetings

Course Benefits • Techniques and skills that can be used immediately to improve personal effectiveness • Win more business and increase your profits • Influence and persuade others to buy into your ideas • Resolve conflict and create harmony within your team • Use powerful interactive techniques to control your audience and gain buy-in and commitment • Gain and retain clients through lasting relationships • Use and read ‘body language’ to build rapport and keep your audience interested • Win respect for your composure in testing circumstances

Who Should Attend? • Anybody who believes they can improve the way they get their thoughts, opinions or ideas across to other people • This may be in a meeting, a full-blown presentation using PowerPoint, a five minute conversation in the corridor at work, a phone conversation, a briefing to colleagues or perhaps you are a senior executive keen to improve your performance • Are you an HR professional responsible for developing key staff in your organisation? Or are you a manager hoping to motivate your team? For example, if you are in: • Executive management – you cannot expect people to follow if you cannot clearly state your message and inspire people to follow the vision • Sales – skills acquired on this course will help you listen to the customer more effectively and address their real needs. You will make a positive impression and handle objections with respect not resistance • Finance – so many facts and figures can lead to boring and technical presentations. Learn how to present so

people can quickly grasp the facts and not simply see you as the person who always presents complicated budgets • The IT world – many people do not understand the numbers, tests, project analysis and technical jargon. Learn how to speak clearly to the uninitiated and relate what you are saying to the audience so they respect your professionalism
