"Before starting to play bowls, my body was my temple. I worked hard in the gym, ate only what was good for me and no demon drink passed my lips. Then that fateful day I joined Sorrento. I became mesmerised by those four bowls at my feet. Rolling a bowl on the rink became my place of worship. I could not get enough of the Pennant's sandwiches and cheese and bickies after a social game. Finally hallelujah I saw the light and realised it wasn’t the demon drink, I thought it was but the nectar of the Gods dispensed over the bar. This resulted in the transformation into the fine figure of a bowler you see today". – Bob
"Being the shy retiring type, I worked hard on my mantra of improving my mind and body through expressing my feelings in appropriate ways. I knew that hard physical fitness would lead to happiness and by living a balanced life this would minimise unwanted complications. Then I started to play lawn bowls and the rest as they say is history, here I am standing barefoot on a bowling green on a Friday night with my arms around another man. Go figure". – Murray
