Innovation Challenge Winners Trip Oxford Brookes University As we Saw it On 27th of June, we were to depart for our trip to London. It was a whole new experience. London is an amazing place to visit. We visited The Buckingham Palace, The London Eye, The Tower of London, The Crown Jewels, BMW Production Plant, The Oxford Brookes University and many more places. The journey was a great learning curve in my life. To know people from places at the other parts of the globe and to learn about their lifestyles was indeed

a golden opportunity for me. We stayed at London for 5 days, all 5 being really very memorable for me. “Memories are all you have...” is an oft saying. After my return from the UK Trip, I can feel the change in myself. Thanks to IIMT and PAS. I am really grateful to everyone who was a part of the project in any manner. Many many thanks to IIMT for organising such a wonderful event that lifts up the spirit of students like us. Today, while I sit by the fields near my home, writing this note, I can feel the wind caressing me. I can hear the chirruping of birds and can feel the blaze of the evening sunshine. I wasn’t an aca-

demic genius. I wasn’t a “sporty” type. I wasn’t good in fine arts or in painting or in music or in dance. Then neither had I had a charming personality. I was not good looking either. But at the end of the day, what matters is the amount of labour you have put in. Give it a hundred percent and you’ll get a hundred percent. That’s what I’ve learnt. The IIMT journey taught me a great lesson.. “The Road does not end for anybody... It starts from where you start...” Mayank Kumar, The Pentecostal Assembly School Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand

IIMT Innovation Challenge these three words have left an inerasable imprint on my life. It gave me the platform to rise above others and show the innovative mind within me. It gave me and my group member Mayank Kumar an opportunity to put forward our idea of purifying chimney’s exhaust so as to reduce air pollution and consequent global warming. We worked hours for this, worked even on holidays. Made draft and finally our idea got selected amongst top 17 schools in India and we were called for giving presentation in Radisson hotel, New Delhi. Then the time came for presentation, we gave it and finally the results came. I was stunned when it was announced that The Pentecostal Assembly won the first prize. We got a trip to UK, was that really true or

I was just dreaming. I mean the thing that I only used to think in my dreams, but yes it was true IIMT paid me for my hard work. Then the time came for going to the UK. I was not having any experience of flying in an airplane ever before. We boarded the flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi. After 9 hours of journey finally I landed in the land that I had been dreaming about ever since we won the Innovation Challenge. It was an awesome experience there. I have never had such type of an exposure ever before. I did many things there - saw London, the London Eye, the Big Ben, Thames and many more places. The Kohinoor diamond in the Crown Jewels collection was of special interest and it was wonderful to be able to catch a glimpse of it. The next day we went to the Oxford Brookes University. Meeting the Associate Dean of the Oxford Brookes University and sharing our ideas with him was a big milestone. The visit to the BMW Mini Production

plant in Oxford was also an enriching experience. We also went to the Oxford University; I cannot explain my feeling in words when I visited Christ College as well as other academic institutions in Oxford. It was really awesome. I had a great time there not even realizing how those 5 days just flew past. I would really like to thank IIMT and Oxford Brookes University for providing such an opportunity. I am also thankful to my school, all those persons who guided me in me in taking me to such heights especially Mr. Daniel Michael Prasad and Mrs. Karuna Prasad. I am also thankful to my family because of which I am here, my existence is because of them and for them. Last but not the least I am very much thankful to my group member Mayank Kumar.

Exposure and knowledge of business prospects and opportunities around the world is an integral part of the IIMT PGDM curriculum. As part of the PGDM experience, IIMT Gurgaon organized an international edufun trip to UK for the PGDM students from 29th June to 3rd July 2013. The aim of the visit was mainly to expose the stu-

Singapore is known to be the country of cultural diversity. 27th June 2013, Thursday was the day when Institute for International Management and Technology gave us an incredible opportunity to visit

Singapore as a part of the educational trip. 0400 Hours was the time when the whole class came together at Indira Gandhi International Airport, T3 for the flight Departure. We were accompanied by our favorite faculty of our institute, Dr. M. Durgamohan. On 27th evening when we reached hotel we had to rush to the Night Sa-

fari which is is the world’s first nocturnal zoo and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Singapore. We came across different creatures on the planet under one roof which was followed by creatures of the night show. We had dinner after the safari and turned back to hotel. On 28th we started our day with delicious cuisine served at the hotel and was followed by the city tour which included Sentosa Tour, Underwater World, Dolphin Lagoon, Images of Singapore, and Songs of the Sea. We were also been taken to the temples of Singapore, Marina Bay Sands and 16

Merilion after the completion of city tour we had been allotted with the time for shopping. On the third day, on 29th June, Dr. Durgamohan took us to the Management Development Institute of Singapore. It is one of the largest business schools among private education institutions in Singapore, with an annual intake of more than 4,000 students. Tour around the MDIS campus turned out to be very productive. The days passed on and we explored Singapore to the best of our time span allotted. We went through heavy shopping, ate delicious food and we also explored the most talked about water park of Singapore ‘The Wild Wild Wet Water Park’. We had also been tak-

en to the Yakult Plant and NE Water Plant as a part of the educational visit. We all had a very virtuous time in Singapore and it was a very delightful experience for all of us. And the dream trip to Singapore got over on 2nd July 2013.

This paper is based on a study pertaining to the service quality dimensions in the restaurant industry. Service quality studies pertaining to the restaurant industry in Indian context are very limited. The study takes cognizance of the differences in the Indian context and hence provides an enhanced scale, which is extended

from the popular DINESERV scale (Stevens et al., 1995). In addition, this study will provide direction to the research in measuring service quality dimensions in restaurants in the Indian context. Our culinary heritage and its diversity are well recognised, but does it have the potential to act as a value driver that renders sustainability to both the traditional food and its producers, ensuring its continuity to future generations? Can it be deployed as an asset that turns locations into culinary destinations? The research findings have practical implementations at various levels and were well appreciated by the fellow researchers at the conference. 17

(NSIC), class of 2011 with Dr. Rumki Bandyopadhyay went on an industrial visit to their campus on 13-11-2013. It was the day we were all waiting for as we were aware that the trip is going to be very informative. During the presentation we came to know what NSIC does, how it employees unemployed people and how it produces best out of nothing. Some of the products like soya milk, biscuits, toilet paper, tomato ketchup, ice cream cone, paper plate, RO water etc. are produced at NSIC. NSIC also runs a program where people can enroll to learn more about the production process and during they process they will also be certified by the government of India at a very nominal fee. Apart from briefing us about NSIC host was kind enough to boost us up for our future. At 1200 hours we were taken towards the production area where an instructor took us through the machines and showed us the production process of all the products they manufactured. Everything from the presentation to the production area was very much informative. There was an exhibition going on at NSIC but we unfortunately could not make it to the exhibition but it was not at all disappointing because we had gained all the information and even more than what we had expected form NSIC. They say you cannot cross every (t) and dot every (i) in life, therefore we were happy with the information we had gathered from the organization. We left the premises at 1500 hours and the informative, interesting and successful visit came to an end. We express our heartiest thanks to Dr. Rumki Bandyopadhyay who took the initiative and arranged this visit for us. We look forward for more of such visits from the institute. Visits like NSIC would definitely act as ‘cherry on sundae’ to our professional career. Volume 7, Number 1
