San Antonio City Center Tara Mitchell, IIDA, LEED AP, RID City Center Director SA Partnership The IIDA San Antonio City Center has had a busy fall, as we have held and participated in a number of events throughout the community. Our Council Retreat kicked off the new Council year with a luau theme back in August. The IIDA West Texas City In September, we held a Membership Event that was a success and brought together a diverse group of designers from all over the San Antonio area. Also in September we participated in the International Effort, ‘Parking Days’ which was spearheaded by the San Antonio Architecture Foundation. The event focuses on promoting green spaces in urban environments and the IIDA Parking Space was themed “The Living Living Room”. In October, the San Antonio City Center Council joined the Bullock Brigade in the Walk to Defeat ALS, as the South Texas ALS Chapter is an organization that is very near and dear to our hearts. Last but not least, coming up on December 16th is our HUGE Winter Festival Event from 6 - 8 pm at Family Celebration in Boerne- it’s sure to be a lot of fun for everyone!

West Texas City Center John DuBard, IIDA, AAHID, LEED AP Graphic Communication Chair Parkhill Smith & Cooper WTX exciting summer-fall lineup of events: 09.08.11 Cake for the 5th Birthday Celebration and Annual Kick-Off (20-there) for WTX FUN and a GRA address by TAID Pres, Rosa Salazar, IIDA; 09.15.11+ 09.27.11 Member Events at Texas Tech and Abilene Christian; WELCOME Student Members; 10.04+05+06.11 Design EXPO.11-Texas Tech’s Annual Table-top Show connected design practitioners, students, faculty and industry, the next day our Industry Roundtable Group (22-there) met at The Funky Door, then a WTX Sweet Deal Wine&Cheese (43-there) as Members and those considering Membership (9-potentials) network with Industry Friends, and finally, City Center Week is not complete without a CEU (17-there) Workplace One presented by Heather Esposito; 11.10.11 CEU Environmental Design for Infection Prevention presented by Dr. Debra Harris; and 12.16.11 WTX Bubbly Cheery Networking: Holidays are not complete without a little IIDA Mistletoe Fun.
