A clothes-hanger for a business man 1/11

The crease

For the brand Very Wood, Michael Sodeau Studio conceived a chair with a particular shape at the top. The wood is bent like the crease of clothes. From this detail, I had to design a cloth-hanger for a business man. A practical chair which is possible to hang your suit, your trousers or even your hat. Elegant and minimalist, this clothes-hanger would know also how to empty your pockets and tidy perfectly your precious objects and accessories.

A Scandinavian mid-summer cafĂŠ 2/11

Habitat, Chelsea showroom, London

Michael Sodeau Studio did a pop-up exhibition at Habitat, in the West of London. Michael Sodeau wanted to create a Scandinavian atmosphere thanks to the silver birch and the furniture coming from there. The colourful chairs contrast with the white predominance.

A colourful lounge for Milan Furniture Fair 2014 3/11

Palazzo Morando

For Milan Furniture Fair 2014, the design studio where I worked, had to propose an outside lounge in a particular space at Palazzo Morando. Decorating with some Scandinavian sofas and tables, we also integrated the lamp Bolla by Michael Sodeau Studio, and a coffee machine from La Marzocco. Soft or bright colours, cocooning or emptiness, the sofas give a modern style to this old outdoor space.

Existing collection Noughts & Crosses : stools and tables

Transformed Noughts & Crosses

From the existing collection Noughts & Crosses by Michael Sodeau Studio, made up of wooden tables and stools, I had to create a chair to complete this collection. Although the new chair didn’t need to include these signs of O and X, used in the collection, it still used the same materials which are the oak and steel. This chair needed to be more comfortable in comparison to the stools, thus the armrests were installed. The mix between these two materials worked well, indeed steel brought modernity to this cosy wooden chair.

Interactivity

I wanted to widen Groupe Leblanc’s competence by proposing an interactive lamp using movement sensors. Modules with Arum lily in a plastic PET (or naked) create a stopping-off place. Angel-hair pasta (Groupe Leblanc’s bright material) go out from suspensions in the trees. Some lights stay switched on, whereas some others light up when a movement is detected.

The flower mock-up was used to validate the shape. I selected the short lock in the back version for its elegance and for its advantage of not losing much material in the cutting process. The modules are composed of aluminium stalks (Groupe Leblanc’s main raw material). They drive into hollow square tubes to be maintained. These tubes are then welded on the concrete block’s top.

Overview (carried out by simulation department from Groupe Leblanc)

Bright decoration Enchanted snowflake

Middle of the range

This products range introduced here, was adressed to municipalities with moderate budget. The light conception in two panels aims to reduce costs. Rather than carrying it out in 3D, a false 3D effect is created by imitation. Bright decoration Enchanted star

A stylish Christmas

I drew stressed curves for the Christmas ball to give a perspective illusion. Whereas for the gift, I opted for straight lines on the 3D modelling to reduce the cost. LED bright cordon, LED garland and PET (plastic) with stained-glass window pattern are used here. 13 /23

A lightened awakening 8/11

The Optical fiber and the LED : advantages

The Artemide alarm-clock simulator of dawn enables a soft awakening due to a progressive light diffusion. The optical fiber limits the luminous intensity thanks to light conductivity, which renders it ideal for the awakening. In the evening, with the power of the LEDs, the user can transform the alarm clock to a stylish bedside lamp.

The bowl and its tray

The cup and its tray

Symbolism

Very often ignored or forgotten, the meaning of Triskèle is to be remembered on these china : an Dour (water), an Aer (air) hag an Tan (fire). In an uncluturred, sober and contemporary way, these words were painted on the tray meal and the shape of Triskèle present on the bowl as well. 17 /23

The comfort of blades of grass 10/11

Escape

The uneven back tilt, visible in the profile, evokes an aerial movement, as the ones of the blades of grass shaken by the wind. A natural movement which confronts with the straight lines of buildings and which invites to rest there and feel good. This curved bench marries the shape of the body gently.

Console for a restaurant

During my internship in two-year technical degree in Atelier de Gwénola (workshop), my supervisor and I created a cardboard piece of furniture for a nearby restaurant : l’Art Gourmand. The visitors’ book of the restaurant alongside various flyers are presented on this Rigoles pour les flyers console.

Market trolley

In my two-year technical degree, I designed a market trolley for the brand Perigot. During my training course, I made the prototype of the concept. The purpose of this project was to create a trolley with a modern and sports look using a geometrical shape and playing on the appearance of wheels. 21 /23
