February 6, 2014 edition ANNOUNCEMENTS  Commuters trying to reach the Ramstein East Gate may experience minor traffic delays on the L369 outside the East Gate due to a construction project. Expect delays when leaving or entering the installation between 9 a.m. ‐ 3 p.m. until approximately March 1. A traffic light will be installed and the speed limit reduced on the L369 between the Harmon Gate and Mackenbach circle to mitigate traffic flow in this area. Please plan accordingly, observe all traffic laws and use the East LVIS Gate when available. DSN 570‐2529, civ. 0611‐9744‐2968.  UPDATE ‐ The Kapaun Vehicle Registration Office has returned to its normal staffing levels.  UMUC Europe Headquarters will relocate their offices Feb.6‐7. During this time all phone access (at the headquarters) will be out and customers may experience slight delays in correspondence. For immediate assistance during this time, please contact your local field representative. The headquarters is scheduled to reopen Feb.10 at Hertelsbrunnenring 10, 67657 in Kaiserslautern. www.europe.umuc.edu/locations , civ. 0631‐534‐800 (new number).  The Tax Assistance Center in Bldg. 3210 on Kleber Kaserne in Kaiserslautern is open 9 a.m.‐4 p.m. Monday‐Friday. To make an appointment, call DSN 483‐7688, civ. 0631‐411‐7688. The Landstuhl Tax Assistance Center, in Bldg. 3701 (first floor), is open 9 a.m.‐4 p.m. Monday‐Friday. For appointments, call DSN 486‐6334, civ. 06371‐86‐6334. Both facilities are closed federal holidays. Walk‐ins are welcome. The Pulaski Tax Assistance Center is also open for DROP OFF SERVICES ONLY in Bldg.2886, Room 102; DSN 493‐4033, civ. 0631‐3406‐4033.  The Department of Defense no longer sponsors the Automated Housing Referral Network (AHRN). Installation Management Command Europe housing officials want to remind customers that the Off‐ Post Housing website at www.imcom‐europe.army.mil/OPH has an accurate list of available private rental housing listings that are managed by the local housing offices. The units listed on AHRN may no longer be available or customers may be liable for paying a finder's fee. For more information about finding off‐ post housing, contact your local housing office.

schedule ID Cards/DEERS appointments for service at the Kaiserslautern Kleber Kaserne ID Card office, Bldg. 3245, Room 102.The ID Cards/DEERS office will continue to offer walk‐in service in addition to appointments. Office information and application requirements can all be found online at the same site. 

All Army postal operations at U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland‐Pfalz will be closed for the U.S. Army Europe training holiday Feb.14. This closure will affect facilities the mail distribution node/official mail at Panzer Kaserne, Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Kleber Kaserne and Sembach Kaserne. At Landstuhl it affects finance only. At Pirmasens, no “click‐n‐ship” packages will be accepted. Patrons may use Air Force post offices on Ramstein Air Base and Kapaun Air Station.

RECREATION/FMWR  The USAG Rheinland‐Pfalz Outdoor Recreation facility in Bldg. 2905 on Pulaski Barracks will be closed Feb. 8 due to required unexpected building maintenance. Trips leaving early Saturday morning will NOT be affected. The facility will re‐open Feb. 10.  Armed Forces Entertainment and Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation and Army Community Service present Linda Vu’s Women’s Self Defense workshop 1 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Landstuhl Fitness Center, Bldg. 3720. Open to female military ID card holders, 18 and older. Register at DSN 493‐ 4357, 0631‐3406‐4357.  KMC Onstage presents "Love Letters" by A. R. Gurney 7:30 p.m. at the Arts & Crafts Center, Daenner Kaserne, Bldg. 3109. Performances scheduled for Feb. 7, 8, 14 and 15. Ask about the “Wine and Cheese” option. The Mountaineer Fitness Center on Smith Barracks is now open 9 a.m.‐5 p.m. Saturdays. The center is also open 5 a.m.‐9 p.m. Monday‐Friday, noon‐8 p.m. on training and U.S. holidays (closed Sundays). Performances of the “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” will run at the Baumholder Hilltop Theater Feb. 14, 15, 21 and 22. After a weekend break, the show returns for three final performances March 7, 8 and 9. Friday and Saturday performances are 7 p.m. and the Sunday performance 3 p.m. For tickets call DSN 485‐7244, civ. 0678‐367‐244.
