4) INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES GUIDE As mentioned previously, we are focusing our international campaign into three main actions, all of them conducted through social media and online cooperation. The three activities are complementary to each other and follow the Ending Stigma and Discrimination theme that we talked about right at the beginning. They are all done as part of The PACT led by the IFMSA and the Global Network of Young People Living with HIV.
Pay attention to the next few paragraphs, there you will find the explanation
of how you can participate in each activity as well as the call and access to the necessary resources and materials. a) Testimonials Booklet This activity takes shape into a booklet that aims to collect different HIV-related experiences in a healthcare setting (either bad or good) from future healthcare providers, people living with HIV or anyone willing to participate. By presenting this booklet to our members and spreading it to health professionals, we aim to initiate an impulse that will destigmatize HIV. It’s important to note that we are doing this with Y+, since to understand the needs of the community and be aware of what we should do to improve the future healthcare, we should directly work with them and get an insight of their struggles. What are the different steps to participate? 1. Spread this manual to make sure it reaches the maximum amount of people possible. 2. Write down your own story and encourage anyone willing to participate to write their own. 3. The story should be no longer than 300 words and include your first name, age and profession 4. Send the story plus a picture of yourself (not mandatory). Everything needs to be sent to scorad@ifmsa.org before the 27th of November. On the 1st of December, the booklet will be displayed through the different IFMSA and SCORA communication channels. b) Advocacy Video In SCORA we are well known for promoting our work and advocating through videos created by our members, so this time we will keep this trend alive. We ask you to send us a short video (either individually or with a group) in which you give us your insight on how Stigma and Discrimination in healthcare settings can be tackled.
