capacity of these institutions to be able to deliver results in line with contractual requirements. In the long term, building strong institutions (both private and public) improves efficiency and effectiveness, not only in project implementation, but also in project outcomes.

Conclusion COMRAP was a unique program designed to respond to rising food prices in the COMESA region by increasing agricultural productivity through enhanced access to financial resources and inputs. A number of achievements were realized in the three components – finance, agro-dealer network strengthening and seed multiplication and harmonization – in terms of fast-tracking and completing activities within a very short time.
