Fall Line Jam is a cultural bridge between the State’s urban and rural communities through film, food, music, outdoors and history. The weekend festival will be held along Central Georgia’s Fall Line at three historic locations including a central stage at Elm Street Gardens, Sparta Mushrooms and the old train depot in the seat of Hancock County, Sparta, GA. Fall Line Jam was created by Fall Line Press and Sparta-Hancock Chamber of Commerce is co-sponsoring the event. Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office has also lent its support to the festival. The event’s name “Fall Line Jam” comes from the geological boundary or “fall line” stretching about twenty miles wide and northeast across Georgia from Columbus to Augusta. It is a gently sloping region separating Georgia’s Piedmont area from its Coastal Plain which rapidly loses elevation from north to south and is characterized by a series of waterfalls and rapids. The festival’s home, Sparta, is situated near the fall line and lies roughly halfway between Macon and Augusta, twenty-three miles east of the old Georgia capital at Milledgeville, and sixty-five miles south of Athens. Festival hours are Friday, November 1 from 4pm to 10pm, Saturday, November 2 from 8:30am to 9:00pm and Sunday, November 3 from 8:00am to 2:00pm.
