China is increasingly playing a central role in global governance. Thus, Chinese government, business, and civil society organizations will be will be key players in shaping China’s role as it enters the 21st century. It is high time to engage Chinese stakeholders in the international discussions about global solutions, in that the world is confronted not only with ancient problems such as poverty, war and disease, but also new challenges such as climate change and the widening gap between rich and poor.
This book is a collection of articles that is prepared for the Bridges China Dialogue in Geneva in September 2012. It is co-edited by Dr. Scott Kennedy and Dr. Shuaihua Cheng, and jointly published by Indiana University Research Centre for Chinese Politics and Business and the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development.
