NAIP workshop on Tech-enhanced learning for NARS managers

CRISAT in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) organized a workshop to sensitize senior managers of NARS on Technology-enhanced learning for agricultural development on 7 November at the School of Agriculture, IGNOU, New Delhi. The workshop held under the National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) “Innovations in technology mediated learning: An institutional capacity building in using reusable learning objects in agro-horticulture” was coordinated by NT Yaduraju of KSI.

Twenty participants including deans and senior staff of state agricultural universities (SAUs) under ICAR attended the workshop. g
ICRISAT-IWMI learner-participants complete Hyderabad Heritage Marathon Mohammed Qadir, Krithika Anbazhagan and Saideepa Kumar, learner participants of ICRISAT and IWMI, joined the Hyderabad Heritage Marathon on 9 October organized by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism and the Hyderabad 10K run foundation to celebrate the history and heritage of the city and to promote fitness and tourism. The three received a medal each for participating in and completing the half-marathon category (21.152 kilometers). They described the marathon as an awesome experience when the “mind wins over the body.” They drew energy from the hundreds of participants, organizers and caring volunteers, crowds and traffic police cheering them on the streets, the beautiful sights along the way, and the encouragement of family, colleagues and friends. g

LSU PhD scholar bags best poster award at 11th AMC Jewel Jameeta Noor, a PhD scholar under ICRISAT’s Learning System Unit (LSU) pursuing her PhD with CIMMYT, was awarded the best poster award at the 11th Asian Maize Conference (11th AMC) held at Nanning, Guangxi province, the People’s Republic of China. The poster was based on the paper titled “Morpho-physiological traits associated with heat stress tolerance in tropical maize (Zea mays L.)” authored by Jewel Jameeta Noor, PH Zaidi, Shahid Uma, MT Vinayan and Pooja Devi. g
