International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
The ICRC is a humanitarian organization that saves lives on all sides of conflict, working across 100 countries. Founded in 1863, it led the creation, and remains the guardian, of the Geneva Conventions – the ‘laws of war’ which protect the lives and dignity of children, women and men in conflict. We are the only three-time recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Wherever and whenever in the world there is violence and war, you will find the ICRC at work. We provide life-saving health care and physical rehabilitation services, restore sustainable livelihoods of war-torn communities, reduce the danger of landmines and other explosives to civilians, and reunite families separated by conflict. As an independent and neutral organization, we help people without taking sides.
