TK Series Paddle Wheel Flow Meter Solves Tough Hypo Service
When KIK Custom Products a private label bleach manufacturer required a flow meter to measure 12% Sodium Hypochlorite they contacted Icon Process Controls. KIK was looking for a device capable of measuring the flow of ‘bleach or hypo' as it is commonly known, a very strong oxidizing chemical. They meter had to have a local display showing flow rate + flow total and a 4-20mA output signal to a remote display.
KIK stated they were skeptical of the paddle wheel technology, previous experience with this type of design was less than stellar; plastic paddles and metal rotor pins did not last. The TK Series plastic paddle assembly is different in design, incorporating a Tefzel paddle, complete with a zirconium ceramic rotor pin with 2 bushings located inside the paddle. The material Zirconium Ceramic offers superior chemical and wear resistance and come with a life-time warranty.
