When an international precious metal recovery plant was looking for a reliable liquid level transmitter that would perform flawlessly on a HCL they turned to Icon Process Controls. Hydrochloric acid is extremely corrosive and produces a gas that is commonly referred to as a vapor blanket. This blanket fills the empty space between the liquid level sensors and the top of the tank and wreaks havoc with ultrasonic level sensors The Levelpro submersible level sensor was selected at the best instrument for this application. They are loop powered and provide a 4-20mA output signal. They are not affected by foam, turbulence, and condensate. Most importantly for this application…vapor. The chemical resistant PVC, PP, PVDF, 316SS bodies coupled with Teflon jacketed cable and Kalrez O-rings make the 100 series an excellent choice for corrosive liquid applications
