duced four times a year by the Historic Third Ward and East Town Associations. Admission is always free. About the artists Gerry is an award-winning local acrylic artist. Her recent series fea-
tures juveniles enjoying the outdoors, “gleefully free from technology.” Her soft image paintings, inspired by early family photos, express life’s jubilance. Her work was in solo and juried shows in Milwaukee County and in Door County. Gerry’s figure drawing training at the Layton School of Art led her to a fashion illustrator’s job at Gimbel’s Department Store. That experience and a Master of Art degree qualified her for a graphics art instructor’s position at the Milwaukee Area Technical College, where, she said she “happily” was employed three decades. Angeles. She returned home to Milwaukee and has worked professionally as an artist since then. Her paintings and sculpture can be seen in art galleries around the Milwaukee area. There are four paintings in the galleria at the Italian Community Center depicting four figures from the Sistine Chapel that Laura painted in 2005. Her recent “Eating Series” paintings display technical skills with “tongue-incheek” subject matter ever present. Laura is an Artist-in-Residence at Lincoln School of the Arts, teaches painting at Hart Park and privately. Gallery Night & Day info The ICC will be one of about 60 venues throughout the East Towne and Historic Third Ward areas participating in the spring Gallery Night & Day program, which is being presented for the 26th year. A special flag will be posted outside Cafe La Scala to call attention to the ICC as one of the participating venues. The ICC offers free wine and cheese during Friday’s showing.
