Local 103 Fundraiser for Maura Healey
IBEW LOCAL 103 ENDORSES MAURA HEALEY FOR MA GOVERNOR
Recently, Local 103 was pleased to hold a successful fundraiser for Attorney General Maura Healey’s campaign for governor at the Boston JATC. Thank you to all who contributed and all who assisted in making the event a big success!
We’re proud to endorse Maura in her historic bid to be Massachusetts’ first elected female governor. She has long been a strong ally to labor and her record supporting organized labor speaks for itself. Among her accomplishments:
◦ In 2021, Healey’s office assessed more than $8.1 million in restitution and penalties against employers on behalf of working people in Massachusetts. ◦ Her Fair Labor Division has fought wage theft, recovering nearly $2 million from 115 employers. ◦ She has advocated for lowering health care costs and overhauling the state’s child care system. ◦ She has taken on Big Pharma, winning more than $500 million in restitution for Massachusetts from opioid distributors and drug makers. ◦ She has sued Uber, Lyft and other app-based companies for labor law violations. ◦ In 2015, she launched the Community Engagement, which assisted in passing key labor policies such as the Earned Sick Time law and the Domestic
Workers’ Bill of Rights. ◦ She also helped craft legislation to require pay equity for women and job protections for pregnant women.
