This year we bought a trailer to fit both cars—and I built living quarters in the front so is now easier for us and our 3 dogs to spend weekends at Elko Speedway. I’ve been at Graham for about 9 months now and loving it. I’m working on a $30
million Emergency Department Expansion and Renovation at Iowa Methodist Medical Center basically where the School of Nursing Implosion was in March 2014. They just added a 2nd floor to a project that was under construction so we added steel in the middle of the project. Also working on preconstruction for a plastic surgeon and spa that would be located in West Des Moines and getting to work with Bryan Michael “Fall 1996” as an owner representative on this project. Personally I am looking forward to our youngest starting kindergarten in August this year and our oldest being a big 6th grader. I will be shorter than my daughter I’m sure by the end of next school year. In April of this year Andy and I took our first adult couple trip to Jamaica and had a great time (our first trip without the kids in over 11 years). Construction in Jamaica of their houses was amazing to me as they built onto their houses as they had funds and lived in them partially done. We’ll have a couple family trips later this year to Florida and California before school starts and before Christmas this year. This past year I taught the Cornerstone Learning Community (ConE 121/122) and the Design-Build Capstone (ConE 487/ CE 485) courses. I continue to enjoy my role in the classroom. I am also still chipping away at a PhD and hope to be done in the next year. On the home front, Tim continues to amaze me with his handyman skills around our 50-year old home.
