THE IASIMUN MICROPHONE by Ioana Gabriela Gorgoi Time has come to pass on the IASIMUN microphone to the ECOSOC and the Human Rights Committees. We hope you have enjoyed your chance to express yourselves and to show the others than there’s always humanity behind the stiff and rigid masks of high-level diplomacy.

“The reason I chose to represent Denmark at the IASIMUN Conference is that I consider it to be one of the most developed countries worldwide with enough both financial and social resources available so as to support less developed countries.” Denisa Stoeanu Slatina – (Denmark) Human Rights

“There are a great many things that I hope to achieve from taking part in the IASIMUN Conference: language skills, debating skills and achieving information and statistics on the major problems the world is now facing.”

“The most difficult part of my training was getting started. I’m not much of a hard worker and whenever I wanted to begin the training, there was always something else that required my attention.”

Alina Emilia Ciortea Cluj-Napoca – (Austria) ECOSOC

Dan Dumitru Macovei Iasi – (United Arab Emirates) ECOSOC

“As I see it, ECOSOC is probably the most important committee because it deals with the world’s most difficult problems.”

“The Human Rights Committee most appealed to me because I want to study International Law next year and I wish to sustain my final thesis in Human Rights. It’s my passion.”

Lucian Chiriac Iasi – (Portugal) ECOSOC

Raluca Popescu Bucuresti – (Sri Lanka) Human Rights

“Why Human Rights? It’s simple; it is the duty of every human being to try and find solutions so as to help the needy ones and the ones than haven’t been as fortunate as the others.” Raluca Stefanescu Pucioasa – (Yemen) Human Rights

“From taking part in the IASIMUN Conference I intend to achieve as much experience as possible with a view to pursue a career in diplomacy. My intention is to take part in the spring GALMUN Conference, too.” Codrin Timu Iasi – (Paraguay) Human Rights
