The Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Members of the Commission undertake visits to States/UTs during the period to review the problems relating to Minorities. The Commission has also constituted a Minority Education Cell to exclusively look after the problems faced by the minority educational institutions concerning recognition, affiliation, grant-in-aid, etc. Commissioner for Linguistic Minorities The Office of the Special Officer for Linguistic Minorities (commonly known as the Commissioner for Linguistic Minorities) was created in July 1957, in pursuance of the provision of Article 350-B of the Constitution.
