India has made tremendous progress in agriculture and allied sectors after its independence. Liberalisation of policies of the government, fostering public-private partnership in different areas and facilitating entry of national and multinational companies in the agriculture value chain are some of the factors contributing to the progress being witnessed. Indian agriculture can reach the next stage of development and become a major international player in agri business markets if it can ensure the availability of qualified agribusiness professionals in the sector. Agribusiness management education, is therefore, attracting attention of the policy makers of the country in view of the vast opportunities of growth that exist in the core areas like production, processing, marketing, exports, etc. To cope up with the opportunities and challenges under the present scenario, it is necessary that a person should be able to utilize his/her capabilities to the maximum extent and should know how to go beyond the already explored limits. I appreciate the efforts of Institute of Agri Business Management which is contributing as one of the leading centre of higher education, training and research in Agri Business Management. IABM has made significant contributions by providing competent manpower with the desired technical and managerial skills through its MBA (Agri Business) programme to the agribusiness industry. The students of batch 2017-19 are well equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to seek opportunities for themselves. I am quite confident that they will be true assets to the agribusiness organisations and contribute the most in the growth and development of the nation at large.

The transformation of agriculture into agribusiness has paved a way for increasing demand of professionally qualified manpower in order to manage different operations. The changes being experienced by Indian agriculture resulted in Agribusiness Management education attaining new strides over the past one decade, considering the growth registered by the number of institutions offering the programme. Conceptualised by the experts of the World Bank and established as an institute in the year 2000, the Institute of Agri Business Management through its MBA (Agribusiness) programme is contributing significantly towards the growth of agribusiness and allied sectors as evident from the potential of its alumni serving in corporate and non-corporate organisations in India and abroad. With an impressive blend of faculty, organisational support and the alumni, the academic programme focuses on equipping the students with leadership qualities, conceptual and inter-personal skills, enhanced vision, professionalism and social values, apart from providing them the desired academic inputs. The culture of IABM empowers the students to develop a unique identity in an organization. I am happy to introduce you to the profile of our committed students of 2017-19 batch. About The Institute
Institute of Agri Business Management (IABM) was established in the year 2000, with the financial assistance from the World Bank as a constituent unit of Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner.

IABM envisages solution oriented and agri industry need based management education, training, research and policy related activities which nurture young talent according to the changing needs for making the agriculture sector a vehicle for sustainable development of the nation. The institute is approved by AICTE and accredited by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. IABM offers Masters and Ph.D. Programmes in Agri Business Management. The knowledge acquired through the courses and exposure to the organizational functions through attachment with corporate/non-corporate organizations brings the desired professional competence in the students to address the demands of the agribusiness and allied sectors which are experiencing frequent changes. Projects @IABM
National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) NAHEP sponsored by ICAR with the assistance of World Bank and Govt. of India, focuses on raising the standards of teaching and learning through faculty and students development programmes, infrastructure, state of the art laboratories, industry linkage, alumni network, career development, etc. with a total cost of 1100 crores approximately for four years, starting from 2017-18. SKRAU is one of those prestigious agricultural universities, who got an opportunity to be a part of this project. The tenure of the project is for four years starting from 2017-18 with a total allocation of 5 crores to our university. KrishiIQ: Digital Dissemination of Agriculture Practices of Cluster Bean and Gram in Hyper Arid Partially Irrigated Western Plain Zone of Rajasthan The project is sanctioned under Rashitrya Krishi Vikas Yojana by Dept. of Agriculture, Government of Rajasthan. The main outcome of the project is the video documented content generation based upon farm-to-fork activities of cluster bean and gram crops in Rajasthan. The content will be generated in vernacular language as well as in English and Hindi. Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana is the flagship scheme of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) on entrepreneurship education and training, advocacy and easy access to entrepreneurship support network to over 7 lakh youth to initiate maximum start-ups over five years. The institute is selected as a training institute under PMYUVA Yojana. Coconut Development Board IABM has signed a MoU with Coconut Development Board to carry out Market research projects under Technology Mission on Coconut titled “Market analysis of Packed Tender Coconut Water in India�, for the year 2018-19. The project aims to give information regarding the players, market share and market potential of packed tender coconut water.
