HIGH VALUE MAN? What is a

In today’s fast-paced, image-driven world, the definition of a “high-value man” can often get lost in the noise. Many equate it with wealth, status, or looks alone. But here at High Value Man magazine, we believe it’s so much more than that. True value isn’t built on flash

— it’s built on character. A high-value man is defined by the way he carries himself, treats others, and pursues his goals. His worth is not just what’s in his bank account, but what’s in his heart, his mind, and his daily actions.

Integrity: The Unshakable Foundation

A high-value man understands that his word is his bond. He follows through on his promises, even when it’s inconvenient, and stands firm in his principles, even under pressure. Integrity isn’t something he switches on when people are watching it’s who he is at his core. Whether in business, friendships, or relationships, he chooses honesty over shortcuts, knowing that trust, once broken, is hard to rebuild

Respect for Women

In a world that still battles inequality and outdated stereotypes, a high-value man stands apart by showing unwavering respect for women He sees them as equals not competitors, not conquests, and certainly not objects. He values their voices, supports their ambitions, and builds partnerships based on mutual trust. Whether it’s his partner, a colleague, or a stranger, he treats every woman with courtesy and dignity.

Ambition with Purpose

Drive and ambition are key traits, but in a high-value man, they come with purpose. His goals go beyond personal gain they aim to create impact. He understands that ambition without direction is just movement without progress. He sets clear targets for his career, personal life, and contributions to the community. He doesn’t shy away from big dreams, but he grounds them with a solid plan and relentless effort

Hard Work and Consistency

A high-value man knows there are no shortcuts to lasting success He’s willing to put in the hours, make the sacrifices, and push through challenges that stop others in their tracks. More importantly, he’s consistent. Motivation may ignite the fire, but discipline keeps it burning. Day in and day out, he shows up — for his work, his family, and himself.

HIGH VALUE MAN

Faith: Putting God First

At the core of a high-value man’s life is his faith. He understands that true strength and wisdom come from a higher source, and he aligns his actions with the values God calls him to live by This foundation shapes his decisions, fuels his compassion, and keeps him grounded when life tests him. By putting God first, he gains clarity in his purpose and humility in his success, knowing that his blessings are meant to be shared, not hoarded. His faith isn’t just words it’s lived out daily through his integrity, kindness, and service to others.

Emotional Intelligence

True strength isn’t about hiding feelings it’s about mastering them. A high-value man is self-aware and empathetic. He listens more than he speaks, understands before he judges, and communicates without belittling or blaming This emotional balance makes him a trusted friend, a dependable leader, and a supportive partner

Self-Respect and Standards

He values himself enough to set boundaries and maintain high standards in all aspects of life. This doesn’t mean arrogance; it means understanding his worth and not settling for situations or relationships that undermine it. He surrounds himself with people and environments that push him to grow rather than hold him back.

A Life of Contribution

Finally, a high-value man recognizes that his life’s purpose isn’t only about personal gain. He gives back — through mentorship, community involvement, or acts of kindness that may never be recognized. He understands that the true measure of a man is the legacy he leaves behind, not just the milestones he achieves. In short, a highvalue man is defined by more than his resume or lifestyle He’s a man of faith, integrity, respect, ambition, and grit He lifts others as he climbs, inspires by example, and lives a life that reflects not just success but significance. And that, we believe, is value at its highest.

OWN

your morning, own your Life.

the morning is your battlefield

For men serious about leveling up physically, mentally, and in every area of life—the morning is your battlefield. Win it, and you set the tone for the entire day. Lose it, and you spend the rest of the day playing catch-up. A strong morning routine isn’t about fancy rituals or wasting hours on fluff. It’s about discipline, efficiency, and actions that sharpen your edge You don’t need a dozen steps you need the right ones, done consistently, with purpose

Cut the Noise

When you wake up, don’t hand over your attention to the world. No social media, no email, no scrolling through bad news. The moment you do, you’re reacting instead of leading. Those first minutes of the day belong to you protect them like your life depends on it, because in a way, it does. Use that quiet space to set your intentions, breathe deeply, and decide how you want your day to unfold before anyone else decides for you

Plan the Mission

Your body has been running on empty all night A tall glass of water (add lemon if you want a kick) rehydrates, fires up your metabolism, and clears the fog. It’s a simple move with big impact, and real men don’t skip it.

Move With Purpose

Strength is built one rep at a time. You don’t need to spend an hour at the gym first thing unless that’s your plan but you must move Push-ups, squats, pull-ups, a jog, stretching whatever gets the blood flowing and the mind firing. Physical motion sparks mental momentum, and that momentum will follow you all day.

Fuel Your Mind

A high-value man feeds his brain before the world feeds him distractions. Read a few pages of something that challenges your thinking. Journal your thoughts to sharpen clarity Listen to an audio that inspires or educates. If faith is your foundation, this is also the time to pray, reflect, and realign your priorities with God first.

A day without direction is a day wasted. Write down the three most important things you must accomplish. Not ten. Not twenty. Three. These are your non-negotiables the victories that will define your day. Everything else is secondary.

Why It Matters

Most men drift through mornings on autopilot. But the men who command respect, build wealth, stay fit, and lead families don’t leave their mornings to chance. They weaponize them.

By locking in a consistent morning routine, you’re stacking wins before the rest of the world even wakes up You’re training your body, fortifying your mind, and taking control of your environment Over time, those daily wins compound into bigger achievements stronger health, sharper thinking, and the kind of discipline that separates the average from the exceptional.

The Bottom Line

Owning your morning is about more than just productivity. It’s about becoming the man who shows up ready, focused, and unshakable—no matter what the day throws at him. The morning is yours to claim. The question is, will you rise to it?

TreatHerRight

Being a high-value man isn’t just about success, status, or material possessions—it’s about how you show up for the woman you love. One of the most powerful ways to do that is through intentional pampering. It’s not about being flashy or excessive; it’s about making her feel seen, cared for, and prioritized

Something as simple as paying for her trip to the hair salon speaks volumes. It tells her you want her to feel confident, beautiful, and unbothered by the small stresses of life. Booking her a massage session after a long, demanding week goes deeper than relaxation it’s a way of saying, “I notice your effort, and I want you to rest ”

A high-value man doesn’t stop at the basics. He’s thoughtful and creative with his gestures. Maybe it’s planning a surprise spa day, arranging a weekend getaway, or sending flowers “just because.” It’s not the price tag that matters, but the intention behind the act He wants her to feel cherished every single day, not only on special occasions.

The truth is, pampering creates a ripple effect. When a woman feels adored, she pours that same energy back into the relationship love, loyalty, and admiration. A high-value man understands that taking care of his woman is an investment that pays back in joy, intimacy, and lasting connection

Mentorship matters

No one achieves greatness alone Behind every breakthrough, every leap of faith, and every victory, there’s usually someone who believed in us before we believed in ourselves. That’s the power of mentorship. A mentor isn’t just a guide they’re a mirror that reflects the potential we often can’t see in ourselves. They challenge us to dream bigger, push harder, and step into opportunities we might have been too afraid to chase. When self-doubt whispers “you can’t,” a mentor reminds us that we can and that we must.

Mentorship isn’t about having all the answers handed to you It’s about walking alongside someone who’s already climbed the mountain and is willing to show you where the pitfalls are, where to rest, and how to keep climbing when you’re tired. Their stories, scars, and lessons become fuel for your own journey.

But here’s the secret: mentorship is a twoway street. While you gain wisdom, mentors gain purpose. It’s a cycle of growth where both people rise higher. If you want to go further, faster find a mentor. And when you’ve grown, become one. Because success feels good, but helping someone else succeed feels legendary

Steps to Building Something of Your Own:

From Employee to Entrepreneur

At some point, almost every ambitious employee has felt it the tug in the back of your mind whispering, “You could be building something of your own.” Maybe it’s the frustration of being told what your time is worth, or maybe it’s the burning excitement of a business idea you can’t shake. Whatever it is, that spark is the beginning of your entrepreneurial journey. And the truth is, you don’t have to stay stuck in the 9-to-5 grind. You can create your own path.

1. Believe You Can Do It

The biggest step isn’t quitting your job it’s believing you’re capable of more. Employees are used to security and direction. Entrepreneurs, on the other hand, write their own story. You’ll need resilience, courage, and the ability to bet on yourself even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed. That belief is what separates dreamers from doers.

2. Build Around What Fires You Up

If you’re going to pour your energy into something, let it be something that excites you Think about the skills you already have, the problems you see in the world, and the passions that light you up. The sweet spot is where your talents meet a real need. That’s where great businesses are born.

3. Start Small, But Start

Too many people wait until “the perfect moment” to begin. Newsflash: it doesn’t exist. Instead, test your idea on the side. Sell one product. Offer one service. Talk to one customer. Every small step validates your idea and gives you confidence to take the next one

4. Protect Your Peace of Mind

Entrepreneurship is exhilarating, but it’s also uncertain. Create a financial cushion so you’re not operating out of fear. Knowing your bills are covered for a few months gives you the freedom to take risks and think creatively.

5. Write Down Your Game Plan

Your vision is powerful, but it needs structure A simple business plan your goals, your audience, your path to revenue will keep you focused when doubt creeps in. Think of it as your personal blueprint to freedom.

6. Surround Yourself with Builders

The journey can be lonely if you try to do it alone. Seek out mentors, peers, and communities who understand the grind. Their wisdom, encouragement, and even tough love will fuel your growth when motivation runs low.

7. Take the Leap

There will never be a time when it feels “safe” to step out on your own But safe doesn’t build legacies At some point, you have to trust yourself, take a deep breath, and leap. That’s how businesses are born. So if you’ve felt that whisper in your soul listen to it. You have more inside you than you realize. The world doesn’t just need

happy trails

HEALTH & FITNESS

His heart is racing faster than the spikes of the wheels on his mountain bike! The twists and turns of a mind challenging wooden track, the insanely steep ramps these bikers use to propel themselves to another level, can quickly turn into a real gut check. And these are just a few of the reasons Eddie and his riding buddies live for the thrill of adventure these bike trails provide

Eddie S an avid rider who’s love for nature and the great outdoors has enjoyed getting out and fully immersing himself in the experience and wonders of nature. “I love the simple things in life.” He proclaims with a smile on his face. Eddie owns a camper, enjoys taking local trips, grilling some burgers spending time with the people he loves, and ending the day by the campfire. “I’ve had the privilege to travel all across this great country of ours. ”I’ve skied in Lake Tahoe, Brekenridge, Colorado, in Utah and many more places.”

“But, there’s something about being on a mountain bike and spending time on the trails that makes me feel alive!” There is so much to enjoy on these trails, but it comes with a great deal of caution and responsibility as riders make their way around the tricky trails. It has it’s ups and downs, pun intended. Eddie and his crew have been riding these trails for an average of 10 years per rider. Riding them can be a lot of fun, but it comes with it’s risks as well. “I’ve had my share of falls, cuts, bumps, and bruises riding through these rugged terrains.”

Jeff M.
Eddie S. "I hate excuses, but two things were a factor, it was getting dark as the sun was setting and fatigue” "There will always be fear, but you must believe you can do it.”

The worst injury Eddie S has sustained occurred in the summer of 2023 in the North Carolina mountains. After a late start Eddie and his friends weren’t prepared for the climb on the trials. And feeling a bit exhausted he wasn’t prepared for such a fast descent. “I hate excuses, but two things were a factor, it was getting dark as the sun was setting and fatigue was definitely beginning to affect me.” Riding down at a high speed Eddie lost control of his bike and hit a tree. With no other option, but to continue down the descent, he made the trek down the mountain in agonizing pain. “I knew I was badly hurt and needed to go

to the emergency room ” After getting an MRI at the hospital the result of his fall was two broken ribs Although it took Eddie two years to feel better and be back at one hundred percent, he was back on his mountain bike in the next three months. Shorter and easier rides at first, then worked his way up to more complex trails within a six month period. In mountain biking there’s always that possibility for accidents, but riders who follow safety precautions, keep themselves at a much lower risk of injury Another rider Jeff M , also very

familiar with the trails has some advice for beginners “Ease into it Start on easier trails, gain confidence, challenge yourself slowly. Try to do drops, jumps, and tricks to learn to get out of your comfort zone.” “There will always be fear, but you must believe you can do it.” On a trip to Moab, Utah in the summer of 2023, the guys endured a challenge of starting their journey at thirty degrees farenheit after being shuttled to the top of the mountain at a park known as The Whole Enchilada On this particular trip, by the time

they made it down to the bottom, six hours later, they were welcomed by a heatwave with temperatures of more than 109 degrees! Physically it was an extremely difficult course to complete, but I would say that it was even harder to overcome mentally. Central Florida is home to several riding trails including the Santos riding trail in Ocala, Alafia in the Lakeland area, and Chuck Lennon in De Leon Springs, just to name a few. They all offer their own unique experience Trail riding offers a sense of camaraderie and keeps you physically fit

Vulnerability

in a High Value Man

If you look up the definition of “vulnerability” in the Oxford dictionary, you’ll find: “the state of being exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally.”

But for Santiago Alvarez, 26, vulnerability is something much deeper He believes that true strength often lies in the ability to express vulnerability and howit is an essential part of emotional maturity. “When you think of ‘vulnerability’ in a High Value Man,” he’s asked, “what are the first things that come to mind?”

Without hesitation, he answers: “Love, Temptation, his Ego, and Health.” Love.

“You attach your feelings onto someone else or something else instead of solely focusing inward,” Alvarez explains. Choosing to love is choosing to trust If you can find the space around you valuable enough to let your guard down, even though it may seem daunting in the moment, you are teaching yourself something new. You are creating a new normal.

receiving it: Love. Fear may be the reason you have your guard up-and the very thing that is holding you back from moving forward as a High Value Man. “Love also brings fear,” Alvarez explains, “when you love someone, you fear losing them. That same fear can even change your values, which is a bigger risk ”

If you can find the space around you valuable enough to let your guard down, even though it may seem daunting in the moment, you are teaching yourself something new. You are creating a new normal. You accept that you are capable of receiving it: Love. Fear may be the reason you have your guard up-and the very thing that is holding you back from moving forward as a High Value Man.Love also brings fear,” Alvarez explains, “when you love someone, you fear losing them. That same fear can even change your values, which is a bigger risk ”

Temptation. “Your enemies will throw anything at you when you are a good guy.” In today’s world, temptation is everywhere. In between the new beauty trends and social media, running into some type of temptation is inevitable.

Temptation isn’t limited to lust or seduction. Temptation also lies within alcoholism, drug use, aggression, gluttony, and other related aspects “Educate yourself on what kind of temptations may endanger you,” Alvarez continues, “temptations can and will steer you off your values, especially if you decide to put a ‘good time’ over your values.” His Ego. “Knowledge of your weaknesses.” To Alvarez, understanding and accepting that there is room for improvement is key to a humble ego. Adapting to the fact that there is always room for growth expands a man's emotional intelligence.

By acting out of pride, fear, and defensiveness, you can find yourself being your own worst enemy. Health. Your health aligns closely with your values. Maintaining a healthy mental, physical, and spiritual routine enhances your quality of life and, by extension, the lives of those around you. “As you learn to value your body and your life,” Alvarez says, “you naturally bring more energy, joy, and presence to yourself and your loved ones.”

Strengthens the Immune System

Cold water exposure teaches your body to toughen up. The shock stimulates white blood cell production and cranks up your metabolism Over time, your immune system gets better at defending against germs. While it won’t make you immortal, it might just help you dodge that “mystery office cold” that somehow takes out half your coworkers every winter.

THE POWER OF THE PLUNGE!

Why Cold Therapy is a Game-Changer for Men

Cold plunges aren’t just the latest fad for biohackers, athletes, and guys on Instagram flexing their “arctic warrior” faces. They’re an ancient practice with modern science to back it up. Yes, it will make you gasp. Yes, it will make you rethink some of your life choices. But when you climb out of that icy water, you’ll feel like you just wrestled a polar bear and won.

Boosts Recovery and Reduces Inflammation

If you train hard whether in the gym, on the field, or just wrestling with a stubborn jar lid you know the value of quick recovery. A cold plunge works like an instant reset button for your muscles. The icy water squeezes your blood vessels like a boa constrictor, flushing out metabolic waste. Once you’re out, those vessels open back up and flood your muscles with fresh oxygen and nutrients. Translation: fewer days walking around like you just auditioned for a zombie movie.

Enhances Mental Toughness

The first time you step into a cold plunge, your brain will immediately suggest alternatives like running away, or perhaps faking your own death. That’s the fight-or-flight response kicking in. But if you breathe, focus, and push through, you’re teaching your mind that you’re in control, not your fear It’s mental boot camp in three minutes or less, and it pays off in every stressful situation whether it’s a heated meeting or your kid “accidentally” painting the living room wall.

Elevates Mood and Reduces Stress

Cold water forces your body to release a cocktail of feel-good chemicals endorphins, norepinephrine, and dopamine—that can make you feel euphoric. You’ll climb out feeling less like a popsicle and more like a champion. Plus, it drops your cortisol levels, meaning you’re less stressed and more centered. It’s like coffee for your soul… without the jitters.

Man’s Guide to Surviving Your First Plunge

1. Accept That You Will Squeal

Yes, even the toughest guys sometimes sound like a startled dolphin. Own it.

2. Breathe Like You’re in a Zen Retreat

Your body will want to hyperventilate.

Don’t Slow, deep breaths will help you keep control (and dignity)

3. Embrace the “What Am I Doing With My Life?” Moment

That thought will hit you around second three. Push past it you’re about to feel amazing.

4. Don’t Be a Hero

Start with shorter dips. Work your way up to longer plunges unless you enjoy bragging to the ER staff.

5. Warm Up the Right Way

Skip the boiling shower immediately after it’ll feel like fire ants. Towel off, move around, and let your body heat return naturally.

6. Make It a Ritual

Consistency is key. The first time is shock, the fifth is routine, and the tenth is pure power.

7. Remember: You Chose This

No one forced you into the icy depths you’re doing it because you’re building a better, stronger, more resilient you.

ENTERTAINMENT

Born in Orlando and raised in Kissimmee, Joshua Young better known as Saint Josh was introduced to rap through his older brothers Jake and Garrett. Jake was always playing new rap songs for Josh, while Garrett rapping himself and embracing the southern hip hop fashion.

Wanting to be just like them, Josh started scribbling raps on construction paper at six years old, and by middle school he was writing lyrics as a way to express himself What began as a parody soon became a lifelong pursuit, shaping his voice as a hip hop artist, songwriter, and producer.

HVM: You’re a very talented artist and songwriter, what inspires you when you write?

Saint Josh: Thank you for saying that. My gift no doubt, comes from God. I wouldn’t be the artist or songwriter I am without Him blessing me, guiding me every day, and providing the right tools and opportunities for me to grow When it comes to inspiration, I draw from a lot of places. I’m heavily inspired by other artists, especially my favorite lyricists like Nas and Black Thought. Watching hip hop documentaries or studio sessions of them gets me hyped. Seeing how they approach their craft makes me want to write better. My goal has always been to work with the people I look up to.

SAINT JOSH

Winning in The Rap Game

But honestly, inspiration comes from everywhere like movies, TV shows, things happening in my life, even deep conversations with close friends and family. Anything that makes me feel something or moves me. Writing has always been how I express myself I started writing when I was younger as a way to vent and escape It became my outlet when I didn’t have anyone to talk to. So a lot of the time, I’m just putting my thoughts into a record. That’s how it’s always been for me.

HVM: What are some of the challenges you see in the music industry as an artist in 2025? And also what are some of the advantages you believe are out there for artists?

Saint Josh: For challenges, AI is definitely changing everything. I’ve seen a big impact on the music industry already, but truthfully, AI isn’t just affecting music, it’s revolutionizing pretty much every industry I think there are some positives, like how it can help optimize systems or speed up certain processes But I don’t believe it should ever replace human creativity or craftsmanship. We need to support our artists, producers, graphic designers, writers, video directors, etc. But AI is scary because it’s only getting better and more realistic everyday and the amount of input is impossible for a human to compete with.

As far as advantages, One that I see right now is the growth of sync licensing, music for TV, film, ads, and video games. With more shows and platforms launching every month, it opens the door for more placement opportunities. But I want people to understand, it’s not some overnight, quick win kind of thing. You really have to be in it for the love of music and the craft. Sync still feels very music centric to me.

Unlike the mainstream recording industry, which is really like a popularity contest driven by metrics, trends, and politics, sync is more focused on the quality of the song and how it fits the story or scene. That’s something I really respect

HVM: We hear a lot of collaborations in your work. What do you enjoy about working with other talented artists?

Saint Josh: I love working with others Collaboration is honestly one of my favorite parts of the process And not just with other artists, but also with producers, songwriters, engineers, anybody who brings a creative vision to the table. For example, let’s say it’s me and someone else on a song, I feel like it’s not just two people working together, it becomes something bigger. It’s like 200 percent instead of just 100. Different people bring different perspectives, and that often leads to something more powerful than what what either of us could’ve made alone.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

I started off doing a lot of features, and I’ve always enjoyed working with people who truly love the art and culture of creating. I believe we’re made in God’s image, and creating is one of the ways we live in that purpose. Even outside of music, I’ve always been a creator. Some artists paint or draw. For me, I’ve always loved building worlds in video games like Minecraft, Fortnite or organizing ideas into lists, decks, and slideshows. I know that’s not the most typical thing for an ar kind of ay I ex

HV usic bu as vo ure in your walk with God?

Saint Josh: I truly believe God has spoken to me in real, personal ways. I pray every day, and I’ve seen God completely change my life. There are opportunities and moments in my career that just can’t be explained logically. Jesus is my hero. I honestly feel like if someone lived my life or walked in my shoes, they wouldn’t doubt His existence. I feel His presence and His spirit. He’s answered prayers of mine in ways that feel supernatural, through dreams, through people showing up with answers to things I’ve prayed about, and through moments that feel too aligned to be a coincidence I feel extremely loved and blessed by the Lord That’s why I want to lead by example and live in a way that brings glory to Him and His kingdom. Even through the lows, during tough and difficult times, there was a gift, a lesson, or a blessing in the struggle.

I know God has always been molding me into who He needed me to be. His timing and His wisdom are beyond mine, and I trust in that. My goal is to continue to share His love and message through everything I do.

HVM: Saint Josh you've had your music placed in several commercial projects with some very well known brands like XBOX, the NFL, discovery + , and NBC Sports, just to name a few. What advice can you provide for a musician who is finding it difficult to have their music placed with these big names and in major projects?

Saint Josh: First and foremost, the craft comes first. A lot of people try to jump straight into landing big placements before truly taking the time to fully develop or master their skills. I started writing when I was 11 years old, but I didn’t step into a studio until I was 18. That was seven years of consistent writing, rapping, and learning how to flow before I ever touched a mic in a booth. Then it took another four years of learning how to record, how to use my voice, and how to deliver emotion and conviction that brings a record to life. Recording is its own art form, and it’s something you have to develop with real intention Once the quality of your music is there, then it’s time to move on to step two, which is understanding the business But I believe you should develop the product before you try to sell it.And here’s the harsh truth, talent is only half the battle. It’s what gets you noticed and opens doors, but it’s not everything. What talent does do is make you undeniable. That’s what builds a legacy. The artists who stay relevant for 20+ years and leave their mark on history aren’t just the ones with the right connections; they’re the ones who are devoted

to the art. Their work resonates with people because of their quality and what they represent, and that comes from them living and breathing it. The reality is, many of the greatest and most talented artists struggled just to “get on.” And if you don’t have industry connections or family in the business, then yes, you’re going to have to work twice as hard.

But if you stay true to the craft and stay consistent, the results will speak for themselves. Success in the music industry, even in sync, is all about relationships. One of the best ways to build those is by collaborating and making real impressions on the right people. Work with other artists and producers. Reach out to music libraries, sync agencies, and music supervisors. That kind of networking will really help increase your visibility. Get on LinkedIn! But don’t look at “connections” as just opportunities or meal tickets. See people as people. Build real relationships, not surface level transactions. Be someone who brings value. Friends do favors. If you want an executive to connect you to someone, don’t treat them like a one time plug.

HVM: Saint Josh thank you for your time and for letting us get to know you more. We wish you continued success and we look forward to lots of more amazing music!

Saint Josh: Thank you so much, I’m really excited about everything happening right now. I feel truly honored to be part of your first publication and artist spotlight. It means even more to me knowing that your magazine is based right here in my area, Orlando and Kissimmee. This is actually my first real feature, so in a way, it’s a first for both of us. I really admire what you’re building with HVM and the purpose behind it, it aligns with my mission as an artist. When I read that your magazine is focused on men’s self improvement, and dedicated to helping build strong, confident men who want to become the best version of themselves and bring value to others, that's something I fully support and resonate with. I just dropped a new song called “All Glory to God,” It’s my first official Christian record as a lead artist, where I boldly proclaim my faith and what Jesus means to me. I’ve featured on a gospel track & a Christmas song before and recorded a few unreleased songs, but this one marks the beginning of a new chapter.

SAINT JOSH

It sets the tone for the message and mission I want to carry forward as an artist. I also released another record in collaboration with jAMBROSE (John Ambrose), called “Hip Hop Eternal” which is a tribute to the culture of hip hop..Each verse in that song represents one of the foundational pillars of hip hop, in the chronological order they appeared in history:

1. Graffiti

2. DJing

3. Breakdancing / B-Boying

4. Rapping / MCing

5. Knowledge (where all the elements come together)

With the Hip Hop Museum opening in 2026 in the Bronx (the birthplace of hip hop) and the recent celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip hop, it’s really important to me to honor the roots and history of this culture. I’ve always felt like I’m from a different era, or that I’m older than I really am haha, as all of my favorite rappers are 40 and up.Paying homage to the legends who paved the way is something I take seriously. Anything I can do to contribute to the culture, celebrate its history, and be part of its continued movement means a great deal to me. My goal is to be a meaningful part of hip hop, just like the artists I grew up admiring.

THE GRILL MASTER’S CODE:

10 SACRED LAWS OF THE BACKYARD BBQ

The grill is not just a cooking appliance it’s a throne of sizzling power. It’s where legends are born, smoke signals rise to the heavens, and a man proves he can handle both meat and flame without burning down the neighborhood (well, usually). Being a true Grill Master isn’t about wearing an apron that says “Kiss the Cook ” It’s about earning the silent respect of every hungry soul standing in your backyard. And like any ancient craft, grilling comes with rules. Not the kind you find in cookbooks these are the unwritten laws passed down from one meat-wielding warrior to the next.

Today, my friend, you’re getting the code. Follow it, and you’ll rise among the greats. Break it, and you may be banished to potato-salad duty forever.

1. Thou Shalt Guard the Grill Like a Dragon Guards Treasure

The grill is your fortress Nobody touches the tongs except you Nobody flips the meat except you Outsiders may offer “advice,” but remember: at your grill, their opinions mean as much as a vegan’s review of a steakhouse.

2. If You Poke It, You Bought It

Once you stab a steak to “check doneness,” you’ve claimed it. This is not a democracy. Your fork holes have marked it for life and for your plate.

3. Beer Is an Essential Tool

Some men swear by meat thermometers. Real grill masters use the “two sips per burger” timing method by Jackson Tayor

One beer in, the burgers are still raw. Two beers, they’re ready to flip. Four beers, you’re telling everyone about “that one time in college” while your wife discreetly

4. Fire Is Always Bigger in the Stories Later

In reality, the flames licked the edges. In the retelling? They roared like a dragon and nearly singed your eyebrows off while you heroically battled the inferno with nothing but your tongs and sheer willpower.

THE GRILL is Your fortress.

5. Veggies Exist Only for Decoration

Sure, throw some corn on there — it makes you look balanced. But everyone knows the real reason they came over is for the ribs, brisket, or burgers. The veggies are just there so people can pretend they made healthy choices.

6. Charcoal vs. Gas Is a Holy War

You must choose your side early in life and never betray it. Charcoal men will tell you gas has “no soul.” Gas men will say charcoal is “a waste of time.” The wise grill master? He knows the truth: both are just excuses to stand outside and avoid helping with dishes.

8. Tongs Are Extensions of the Soul

A man’s skill with tongs says everything about his grilling prowess. Use them with grace, confidence, and maybe a little showmanship. Bonus points for flipping a steak while maintaining eye contact with your brother-in-law who thinks he could’ve done it better.

9. The Grill Master Eats Last (But Best)

Everyone else gets the early batches. You wait until the final round, when the flames and juices are just right, and claim the perfect cut for yourself. That’s not selfish — it’s the reward for your service.

7. Every Grill Session Needs an Audience

The sizzle is a performance. The flip is art. If nobody’s there to nod approvingly when you execute the perfect burger turn, what’s even the point?

10. When in Doubt, Add More Meat

The only grilling disaster is running out. No man in history has ever said, “Wow, you made too much barbecue.” If there’s leftover brisket tomorrow, congratulations you’ve just extended the party.

Closing Ceremony:

You now hold the sacred Grill Master’s Code. Wear it with pride, honor the meat, and remember: it’s not just about cooking food — it’s about commanding fire, uniting friends, and crafting stories that get just a little more dramatic every summer. Now go forth, brave warrior, and make the neighbors jealous with your smoke.

 Grill Master Power Moves

For when you want to look like you were born holding tongs.

1. The One-Hand Flip

Flip that steak in one smooth motion while holding your drink in the other hand. Bonus points if you don’t spill a drop

2 The Lid Peek

Open the lid just enough to let out one curl of smoke, then close it slowly like you just released a wild animal back into the wild.

3. The Perfect Sear Sound

Drop the meat and listen for that sizzling “yesss” sound. If it hisses like a snake, you’re doing it right.

Dramatic Smoke Wave

he smoke away from your face xaggerated flair, as if the flames elves are applauding you.

Grill Lean

ne hand on the lid, tongs in the surveying your kingdom. Say g. Let the smoke do the talking.

THE IMPORTANCE OF STAYING FIT FOR MEN OVER 40

Hitting 40 isn’t a signal to slow down it’s a wakeup call to step up. For men, this milestone often comes with new responsibilities, busy careers, and family demands. Unfortunately, it can also bring slower metabolism, reduced muscle mass, and increased risks of heart disease, diabetes, and joint issues. That’s why staying fit after 40 isn’t just about looking good it’s about protecting your long-term health and quality of life

Strength training becomes especially important at this stage Lifting weights or doing bodyweight exercises helps preserve muscle, support bone density, and keep testosterone levels steady.Pair that with regular cardio whether it’s running, cycling, or even briskwalking and you’ll improve

Regular Training

Cardio Activity Good Nutrition

health while boosting endurance. Flexibility and mobility work, like stretching or yoga, should not be overlooked either. They keep your joints healthy and reduce the risk of injuries that can set you back.

Equally crucial is nutrition. A diet rich in lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables fuels energy, aids recovery, and keeps weight in check Combine that with proper hydration and consistent sleep, and you’ll feel sharper both physically and mentally

For men over 40, fitness isn’t optional it’s an investment. Staying active ensures you remain strong, confident, and capable of enjoying life’s next chapters with vitality.

Modern Chivalry:

Respecting women without being outdated

Fellas, let’s be real chivalry gets a bad rap these days. Some people hear the word and think of medieval knights or outdated gender roles. But here’s the truth: at its core, chivalry is simply about respect And respect never goes out of style

Modern chivalry isn’t about proving you’re stronger, tougher, or “the man of the house.” It’s about showing women that you value them as equals. Opening a door, walking her safely to her car, or paying attention to what she’s saying isn’t weakness—it’s strength. It’s you choosing to be intentional in how you show up.

Modern chivalry is also about consistency

It’s not just one nice act here or there it’s being the kind of man who shows up with integrity, empathy, and reliability every single day. Women don’t need knights in shining armor. What they do appreciate is a man who leads with respect, not ego.

So, don’t let anyone tell you chivalry is dead. It’s alive it just looks different. And the men who get it, who practice respect without pretense and kindness without condescension, are the ones standing out today Be that man

doing it because you think she needs you, you’re doing it because you respect her. That’s the line between being outdated and being modern. Respect her goals, listen to her voice, honor her boundaries. Those actions say more about your character

LIFE WARRIOR

husband and father of three, scheduled a doctor’s appointment to have his blood pressure checked out He just wanted to make sure everything was okay, however on a return visit a week later his life was about to change drastically. “I have what doc?” Jeffrey was confused as he tried to process what the doctor was explaining

very casual like “You have Polycystic kidney disease Mr Martinez ” Jeffrey wondered if he should be concerned, but the doctor didn’t seemed too alarmed about the test results. Jeffrey went home and did what anyone with common sense would do. He googled the disease. And the more he read, the more he discovered how serious these results were. On the follow

up visit he made sure to let the doctor know about the information he had found. “I didn’t want to startle you Jeffrey and stress you out.” “Startle me?! I’m going to need a kidney transplant aren’t I?” Jeffrey asked. The doctor explained that he’d be put on a waiting list for a kidney transplant.

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a genetic disorder where clusters of fluid-filled cysts develop in the kidneys, causing them to enlarge and lose function over time Symptoms often appear between ages 30 and 50, leading to high blood pressure, pain, and eventually kidney failure without treatment.

About a year after his diagnosis, the doctor put Jeffrey on a strict diet. He was given the option of going on two types of dialysis. The first option required receiving the treatment twice a week with blood, or

having dialysis at home every night right before bed So many life changing circumstances were taking place at the Martinez residence, and with this change Jeffrey chose to go with the second option. This option of taking on the responsibility of self dialysis at home was more convenient for Jeffrey, but it was also risky. It involved a higher risk of infection and it wasn’t something he could just skip if he didn’t feel like doing it.

On one occasion Jeff as he’s affectionately known by family and friends, went on a ski rip with some friends and family. He took all his supplies with him He skied during he day and did his dialysis in the evening When one of his cousins who was on the rip with him saw Jeff applying the dialysis o himself that evening, he couldn’t believe t! “Jeff is one tough guy, wow!” His cousin still shares what he witnessed that night at he ski lodge.

LIFE WARRIOR

Jeff has kept an extremely positive attitude during this entire life change, but he’s human and there are always challenges and situations to deal with. He recalls one particular visit at the doctor’s office. Jeff’s car battery had died on his Miata The good thing was that his car is a stick shift and for those of you who are unaware, you can push start a car with a manual shift He just needed to find someone willing to help him push start his car. The problem was that everyone of the patients walking out of the office looked like a zombie from the treatments they had to receive. He was able to push it himself and get back home.

In September of 2013, Jeffrey and his wife got the phone call they had been waiting on for almost three years. “Mr. Martinez we have an available kidney for you.” The hospital representative gave him instructions and they headed straight there Something Jeffrey offers as advice to anyone in a similar situation is to make

Once a patient receives a kidney transplant they are required to follow up appointments every day for up to six weeks. Having chosen a hospital close to home to receive the transplant was key for Jeff and his family The follow up appointments were just the beginning for the 44 year old husband and father After more than a decade long journey since his transplant, Jeff has suffered a heart attack, and has developed diabetes due to the countless different medications he has to take on a daily basis

“Jeff has dealt with it all like a warrior!” One family member proclaims. “He is the strongest person I know!” But if you ask Jeffrey Martinez how he can be so strong and resilient, he doesn’t think it’s such a big deal. “I realize people out there dealing with a kidney transplant have their own situation going on. We all process life very differently and I respect that For me it’s been a matter keeping a strong and optimistic mindset And that has allowed me to remain as active as I can possibly be I try workout with weights every week, I bike ride, and participate in other outdoor activities. I just keep pushing along and make the best out of life!”
