Technical Reference Guide - Enhanced Security Fire Resisting Doors A range of flat entrance doorsets are available for use in internal situations where enhanced security, FD30* Fire Performance and Approved Document E of Building Regulations 2003 compliant. Doorsets are supplied pre-hung in a softwood door frame fitted with intumescent strip and drop down threshold seals. A range of FD30* acoustic performance doorsets ranging up to 30dB are available to special order. Due to the individual requirements for this range of products, each project is dealt with separately to ensure the correct specification is met.

In situations where a fire resisting door is used as an entrance door for flats into a corridor, it is now required to have a minimum mass per unit area of 25kg/m2 or a minimum sound reduction index of 29dB Rw. JELD-WEN FD60* d足足足足oors exceed the 25kg/m2 requirement and some FD30* doors can achieve the sound reductions index when fitted with an appropriate seal to the edges and threshold. FD30* doorsets will be supplied with IS1212 and IS8010Si threshold seals together with intumescent strips.
