At the Dowse

As we’re about to wave goodbye to daylight savings it’s hello to school holidays, shorter days, and cold weather! Despite the colder months starting to settle in, there’s still plenty going on in the Hutt this month.

You can get out and about with your tamariki to a wide range of events, such as t-shirt stamping, a mazeball run, or the LEGO® eco challenge. There’s plenty on for the kids so be sure to keep reading on to find out more.

The Unhinged Exhibition at the Dowse is also worth checking out (and perfect for a rainy day). It displays the full Dowse art collection which has been accumulated over many many years - over 1,000 pieces of artwork!

There are also a couple of public holidays this month, with Easter weekend and ANZAC Day. ANZAC Day will see a number of ceremonies across the city - with the Dawn Service outside the War Memorial Library, and Civic Service at the same location a few hours later. There are lots of other community services across the city, and I look forward to seeing you at those too.

While this month offers the opportunity to wind down after a bit of a rollercoaster Summer, there’s plenty happening in the Hutt if you want to get out and about with your whānau. I look forward to seeing you around!
