H UM A N I T I E S PERRE MAGNESS SERIES ON MEMPHIS HISTORY AND ISSUES

The Perre Magness Series on Memphis History and Issues is a tribute to Perre Magness, one of Memphis’ most distinguished historians and writers. The series was created to extend the understanding of Memphis’ past and present as we look toward its future. Throughout the school year, research projects, speakers, and panels help girls understand Memphis’ uniqueness as a city. Culminating projects by the girls are crafted in our innovation labs and classrooms and displayed for multiple audiences. This year’s projects will include a junior kindergarten downtown Memphis unit, third grade study of historical buildings and heritage project, sixth and seventh grade girls exploring current issues in Memphis, and upper school Rogers Scholars studying a current issue in Memphis.
