Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament July 30-31, 2022, Downtown Flint

Hurley was asked to provide first aid, health information, and cooling tent services for the event which brought out players and spectators of all ages.

This weekend at Gus Macker was incredible. We cared for our community and those visiting with clinical excellence and service to people. We worked together as a team and passionately demonstrated quality care to every patient that visited the medical tent and patients we had run to care for on the court pulling our red wagon.

We were professional and showed the community what Hurley was really about, educated on underlying medical conditions and referred a few to follow up with their primary physician. We bandaged, iced, wrapped, comforted, hydrated, and made sure everybody felt welcomed and cared for with smiles, Gatorades, fruit snacks, oranges, etc.

The community applauded our service and continuously thanked Hurley for being the hospital of choice at the Gus Macker. We had a variety of nurses volunteering from Michigan United and of course our amazing residents / physicians who worked with us to care for our community.

Most of all we had fun, built relationships with each other and demonstrated our passion to care our community.
