Grandpa sits in his rocking chair with his eyes closed and rocks back and forth. The house has started to creak again and the floor cracks under the weight of his chair. Grandpa fixed what we could afford to fix in the house. He patched its leaks with tape. He got the dead rat off of the roof, but he says there’s still a lot more work to do. A lot more money to be earned to do it.
