HUIQING WANG
Marionette I 2017 Ceramics, hardwares, climbing rope, 60’’x10’’x8’’ It was my first time successfully to make a piece hanging and standing on the ground, being a part of the space. Nine body parts are chained together form a whole figure. Symmetry and proportion were the first commands to me during process of designing and modeling. From the books for sculpting, I learned and sketched the anatomy of human body, which allowed me see the bone structure under the flesh.
