PORTFOLIO

This set of renders attempts to show a more rustic feel to the viewer, the scenes and rooms show a place where you would be able to live in the winter and spring as you are surrounded by nature yet protected from the cold.

The combination of multiple scenes in this project allowed the viewer to be immersed in what it is like to live in the big city, showing the building from an exterior and interior perspective as well as some of the rooms inside each appartment.

Vignette

The focus of this project was to convey a certain lifestyle that was surrounded by nature and community where the owner can go to the park, lake or walk around the forest that surrounds their home. This set of scenes is based on a summer house for the wealthy.

Finally, this project represents a very different lifestlye to the rest as well as similar to all. It’s focus is to express a day to day lifestlye that can handle both vacations but also long term living for a large family. Its composition helps the viewer feel as if they were already living in the house.

The making of this collection contains many different aspects of architectural visualisation. This projects specifically required a selection of interior renders that combine to give a sense of a somewhat rustic yet modern house. This project attempts to convey a sense of immersion and tell the story of this building illustrating a sense of relaxation and cozyness to the multiple scenes. To do this I selected various rooms where the owners tend to spend most of their time.

Additionally, the rooms combine nature and lighting in their own way, the plants and outdoor section in the bathroom and kitchen allow the owner to feel connected to their environment which can enhance the feelings of relaxation that the project tried to reflect. In this project there is very minimal play of artificial lighting as I wanted to make sure that the majority of the lighting was natural, making sure the lighting and post processing in all renders was similar allowed the renders to feel as if they were all connected. I made sure to use the same lighting techniques to help me do this.

The Big City

“Make it simple but significant. ”

-Don Draper

This project was very interesting to make, the style is the complete opposite to the previous project and the actual room was intended to look modern and futuristic but still look like it is from this decade which was something interesting to do as making the scene look too crazy could take away from the realism. Contrary to other renders I have worked on the room contains a numerous set of different assets some of which were gathered from an asset library so that I would have something to build from and adapt to help increase the time for the model.

In these renders I have made numerous amount of experimentations both in the interior design process and the modelling process. Building an interesting skyscraper that fit with the city of New York without looking out of place was no easy task and resulted in many different attempts.

Cocnerning the reception room I did strive away from the blue tint that most of the renders have as I wanted the first view of the building feel warm and welcoming. To help me achieve this not only did I implement the warmer lights but I also added multiple plants.

“A real building is one on which the eye can light and stay lit.”

-Ezra Pound

This project required many different scenes, the focus was to show a specific house that was in the outskirts of the town, while still showing that it had connections to other places and communities. To do this I made multiple renders of activities that were performed around the house, I added the park and lake renders to demonstrate that this house is generally used as a vacation or summer house for wealthy people. At the time of setting up the main scene I focused in the vegetation surrounding the house, this was very important to do so that I could get the realism I was aiming for. To do this I made use of many references which showed different styles of vegetation and I attempted to copy them. Something that was important is to make sure that I added many layers to the ground all the way from different grass models to pebbles, gravel, bushes, and trees. At the time of making these renders something that was very important was the post processing, I made use of photoshop and lightroom to enhance the renders and make sure that their quality and story they were conveying was accurate to the building itself.

Finally, this render combines multiple aspects of the previous projects. Again, I made sure to add multiple layers to the vegetation to increase its realism and used multiple composition techniques to help express the message. For example, in this vignette you can see that I used the nature and trees to frame the entrance of the building, in the render of the full building you can see that the rule of thirds has been applied as well. Although these composition techniques were basic they allowed the render to look more dramatic and make the viewer feel as if they were walking towards the building, hence creating a sense of immersion in the viewer.

The two vignettes are made to reflect a lifestyle that would be expected if you lived here. The scene of the indoor pool shows a calming experience and once again places the viewer in the scene and helps them imagine the act of living in that house.

For this project the main focus was to express to the viewer how it would be to live in an environment such as this one, using composition to place them into the scene rather than having aerial shots where the viewer is pushed away.
