Although Dr. Rafizadeh believes that the best tools a cosmetic and plastic surgeon can utilize are his eyes and hands, he recognizes the critical role of x-rays, sonograms, ultrasounds, MRI, CAT scan machines and other tools in helping satisfy the patient’s needs. Another diagnostic tool Dr. Rafizadeh uses often is computer imaging and simulation. “It is very useful to find out what the patient wants by giving them a visual image of what can be accomplished and determine whether their request is feasible,” he says.
