Hudson Kitchen
Djenaba Johnson-Jones had a dream to build Hudson Kitchen, an innovative food business incubator, and HCEDC helped make it happen. Today, the 8,000 square feet mixed-use space at Kearny Point brings production, storage, and co-working spaces together for brands ready to start, grow, and scale their businesses. Members of Hudson Kitchen have 24/7 access to a growing list of bespoke amenities in a fully licensed and FDA-registered commercial kitchen to think big, dream big, and do big things.
“The HCEDC understood my goal of providing resources to the growing community of culinary entrepreneurs here in Hudson County. I took advantage of all the webinars and was able to access valuable information and received the education I needed to succeed. Having them at my side through all these phases was amazing and took so much of the stress out of my journey as an entrepreneur. When it came to funding, I knew they were advocating for my interests to find the best match for the loan required to launch my vision while I was focusing on making it happen.”
Johnson-Jones now understands what it takes to realize goals and succeed. “One of the things I’ve learned through my entrepreneur journey is that you need to utilize your fear. Allow it to propel you forward. Make the phone call. Ask the question. Take the leap. Use your fear to push you outside of your comfort zone and into an area of growth and success.”
