Niger Delta’s Shell Hell
Shell Claim that they play a key role in keeping the environment healthy and clean, but that’s far from the truth. Shell has built oilrigs and pipes in a section of Nigeria called Niger Delta. Shell is destroying the environment in Niger Delta piece by piece. Niger Delta Facts - 75% of the rural population don’t have access to clean water due to constant oil leaks from pipes running under ground. - An excess of 9,000,000 barrels of oil spilt in Niger Delta over the last 50 year People in Niger Delta also find it very hard to grow crops due to the oil spills and also to something that has been illegal since 1984. It’s called Gas Flaring where they burn oil that’s left over or they don’t need. Some how the law that your not allowed to Gas Flare how has slipped through the cracks and is illegal in Niger Delta. The gas flaring creates chemicals that are poisonous and can wreck crops and diagnose local with different types of sicknesses. Gas Flaring can also burn down crops and wreck farmer’s work.

Shell had to pay $15.5 Million Dollars after a man from a village in Africa died, due to terrible conditions due to Shell drilling for oil near his village & Gas Flaring.
So hopefully you realise what Shell put people through in Niger Delta and that they only care about the money & not the people and environment.
