For my semester study abroad, I was situated in the very small town of Cortona, Italy, where commuting on foot was the main social aid. During this semester, I was particularly interested in analyzing the cultural aspect of the word “community.” rough design interventions, we celebrated the path “Incontro” by bringing the community together through a collective journey of human interventions, which consists of six public stops starting with the Historical site of Fortezza del Girifalco. ese stops will utilize historical materials that will then be incorporated with innovative design techniques and technology to spark a revitalization of the surroundings while maintaining Cortona’s rich history.

Each stop o ered a special activity with an identi ed character that correspond to its geographic historical time and celebrates it through its architectural and human encounter. is would by default create unexpected meeting points for both the locals and visitors, which will motivate them to complete the path up to the Fortezza and come back for more.
