‘Souk Fort’ located at the Fort York National Historic Site Visitors Centre promotes culture and arts accommodating multiple programs that include leisure, shopping, and entertainment to provide an allinclusive hub and a welcoming destination for the public. Derived from the Arabic language, the word, ‘souk’ –قوس - is a cultural market place/ bazzar that dates back to the 6th century in the oriental culture. Souks are well known for their trade of cultural goods and food.
