In September 2021 we conducted more in-depth research on habits and practices with 145 people who are signed up to Food Savvy communications. We found that:

74% said that Food Savvy has helped to reduce their food waste

Environment and saving money continued to be the top two reasons for reducing food waste

Five food saving behaviours people have picked up from Food Savvy

59% now check their cupboards, fridge and freezer before shopping

35% now make regular meal plans

32% now feel more confident about what they can freeze

28% now use recipes from the Food Savvy website

26% now feel more confident about date labels
