70 Travel Awards to Thailand as People and Personalities Shine
Thailand earned nearly 70 awards in SmartTravelAsia.com ‘Best in Travel Poll’ 2017 edition with Bangkok, Phuket, Ko Samui and Hua Hin all being named among the ‘Top 10 Holiday Destinations’ for Asia
Mr.Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the TAT said, “We couldn’t be more pleased” It’s people who make the brands - not glitzy corporate logos. Younger voters in 2017 showed less brand loyalty but spent more time on research, while luxury trippers stayed with classic, legacy brands. This year (2017) saw the emergence of younger millennial voters with a high amount of smart phone usage and a discernible shift away from brand loyalty to fun new brands and independents and more time spent on research. Older readers stayed with classic choices and less experimentation. Respondents said it can be challenging to pick winners - or even to book - as authentic brand personality is hard to find in the online sales clutter dominated by booking engines. Thailand has performed exceptionally well in the 2017 edition of the SmartTravelAsia.com Best in Travel Poll, with Bangkok, Phuket, Ko Samui and Hua Hin all being named among the ‘Top 10 Holiday Destinations’ for Asia.

Listings for the ‘Top 10 Boutique Hotels’ Asia, ‘Top 25 Business Hotels’ Asia, ‘Top 25 Conference Hotels’ Asia, ‘Top 25 Spa Hotels’ Asia, ‘Top 25 Leisure Hotels’ Asia and ‘Top 25 Family Hotels’ Asia all featured one or more hotel or resort from around Thailand.
