He also rushed for more than 600 yards and will once again be the key cog on offense, where the Bobcats averaged 26 points per game en route to an 8-4 record and won seven of eight games during one stretch, including a 27-14 first-round playoff victory before falling to Sweeny. He’s not the only weapon though. Rolando Vega (5-9, 165) returns after a 675-yard rushing campaign with four touchdowns. He’ll be joined in the backfield by Hernan Guerrero (5-6, 144). Vega will also have a slew of receivers to target, including Isaiah Balladares (5-10, 155), Joey Montalvo (5-8, 146) and Matthew Zuniga (5-6, 160). The key to the season could be the offensive line, which will be anchored by sophomore center John Reyes (5-10, 295) and senior guard Juan Gallegos (5-6, 252). (Rio Hondo, Tx)-A lot of teams would look at Rio Hondo’s “gone due to graduation” list and breathe a deep sigh of relief. Their first thought would be “phew, we don’t have to worry as much about the Bobcats this year,” even though they’ll throw all the cliches about every game is the toughest game and all that good stuff. They’ll even go as far as to say “in that program they don’t rebuild, they just reload.” Oh yeah, that’s not so much a cliche when talking about the Bobcats. It seems to be more a reality. The Bobcats, despite a large senior class moving on, still return six offensive and five defensive starters. They also have the league’s top passer and rusher returning. Welcome to Bobcat country. Juan Puga (6-0, 180) returns as a third-year starting quarterback for the defending district champions. All he did last year was throw for nearly 2,000 yards and
