Project

Outcome

Maryland Maternal and Child Health Analysis

Developed insights into the social factors influencing poor maternal and child health outcomes in Baltimore during labor, delivery, and postpartum.

Total Cost of Care & Readmissions Risk Adjustment Factor COVID-19 Support

Health systems have leveraged our SDOH analysis to gain actionable insights into the factors impacting specific health outcomes and costs. Health systems have leveraged our Hospitalization Risk Index to plan staffing and resourcing for future waves of expected COVID hospitalizations and critical cases. We built a geospatial application, fitting within FEMA's emergency response workflow, to identify a priori the health and medical needs of a disaster-impacted population. This solution has been extended to Peru.

HSR.health | 2021

Identified the social factors influencing the risk of an opioid addiction, diversion, and overdose during the following 12 month at the County and ZIP Code level.

Health industry procurement officials as well as suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors have leveraged our Medical Supply Risk Index to acquire and distribute personal protective equipment throughout the pandemic.

Business Risk Index HSR.health's proprietary Business Risk Index, developed as part of our Disease Surveillance and Intervention Solution, is intended to give business and public health decision makers an alternative to sweeping lockdowns that lead to increases in unemployment, supply chain disruptions, and negative mental health effects for the population.

How does the BRI work?

POI data Reverse Contact Tracing AI Modeling

To calculate our Business Risk Index, we incorporate mobility data with disease prevalence and transmission data. HSR.health has developed a wealth of COVID-19 data analytics leveraging current case counts, hospitalizations, foot traffic patterns, in-store dwell time, visitor density, and a Point-ofInterest's (POI) physical dimensions - which are critical for providing accurate POI-level insights that can prevent businesses from becoming epicenters of virus spread. We are able to estimate the number of susceptible visitors at each POI within a community and assess the risk of indoor disease transmission by adapting and advancing a well-known infectious disease spread model called the Wells-Riley model. With our Adapted WR, we are able to calculate the risk of transmission at each POI and therefore the estimated number of transmissions per POI. These numbers are then standardized into a value between 0-100 to create our Business Risk Index.

Health Equity Analytic Dashboard Our solution supports the objective and exhaustive study of the social and environmental factors that contribute to inequity and identifies the unique needs of the most vulnerable members of our society in both current and future health disasters. The Health Equity Analytic Dashboard is an actionable, timely, and powerful tool to target and eliminate the artificial inequities that keep us from being a healthier nation and a healthier world.

How does HEAD work?

The Dashboard provides a comprehensive and interactive tool allowing users to self-select SDOH and health factors to analyze from national to local levels. The various tabs include maps at multiple geospatial levels, graphs showing the change in SDOH factors over time, and charts comparing the correlation between different factors. Here, the relationship between unemployment and the population vaccinated with at least one COVID-19 dose is explored.
