Poway Music Fest Chris Hillman & Herb Pedersen With special guests The Eve Selis Band October 2, 2010, 8pm

I am pleased to share with you Poway Center for the Performing Arts Foundation’s 20th Professional Performance Season. These carefully chosen offerings— from bluegrass and rock ‘n’ roll to classical guitar; from madcap comedy to a heartfelt musical—are sure to be exhilarating and memorable live performances.

Country-rock legend Chris Hillman (the Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers) and long-time musical partner Herb Pedersen kick off the inaugural Poway Music Fest with songs from Hillman’s celebrated career (“Turn, Turn, Turn,” “Sin City” and more). Eve Selis, the “Queen of Roadhouse Rock” opens the show with her lively mix of rock and country music.

Masters of the Fiddle

April 16, 2011, 8pm

Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy November 6, 2010, 8pm

Fresh from Broadway, The 39 Steps shows what happens when four actors take on 150 roles. Hitchcock meets Monty Python in this madcap comic thriller packed with international intrigue, old fashioned romance, an on-stage plane crash and a death-defying finale! Winner of two Tony and Drama Desk Awards and London’s Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, this performance is packed with laughs and adventure!

Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy have sold out the Poway Center with their respective bands. Now, two of the world’s most celebrated Celtic fiddlers (who just happen to be married) return to Poway for an evening of foot-tapping rave-ups, wild step dancing, mournful ballads and masterful fiddling. The audience will be left breathless!

Ana is faced with a very big decision: On the one hand, as her alter-ego Barrio Grrrl, she’s busy preserving justice in the barrio and protecting her neighborhood. But in the real world, where Ana misses her mother (who is deployed in Iraq) and cares for her grandfather, reality is sneaking up on her. It’s time for Ana to decide what’s most important: being a superhero or a girl who works miracles in real life.
