Willkommen – Welcome im Master Biomedical Engineering Internationale Studierende in Köthen Der Fachbereich Elektrotechnik, Maschinenbau und Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen begrüßte zum Wintersemester 2015/16 26 neue Studierende aus neun Nationen im Masterstudiengang Biomedical Engineering. Die Studierenden sind teilweise weit gereist und kommen neben Deutschland aus Ägypten, Australien, Bangladesch, Ghana, Indien, dem Iran, Italien sowie Syrien. Sie wurden aus
über 160 Bewerbern in einem mehrstufigen Verfahren ausgewählt. Besonders interessant: Der Studiengang findet in Kooperation mit der Hallenser Martin-Luther-Universität statt. Nachdem die Studierenden im letzten Semester an der Hochschule Anhalt die ingenieurtechnische Seite der biomedizinischen Technik kennenlernen, werden sie zum Sommersemester 2016 für ein Semester nach Halle
wechseln, wo vorwiegend die medizinischen Inhalte gelehrt werden. Dabei findet das Studium ausschließlich in englischer Sprache statt. Wir wünschen allen Teilnehmern des Studienganges ein erfolgreiches Studium und hoffen auf einen regen und fruchtbaren internationalen Erfahrungsaustausch.
Prof. Dr. Cornelia Scott, MBA Programme Director, once again hosted a group of eight Polish students for a week in October 2015 from the partner University of Economics, Cracow, Poland lead by Dr. Halina Lyszczarz for the traditional International Student Project Week. The students worked together with international MBA students, in particular from our partner Universities Jiangsu University of Technology and Jiaxing University, China on a challenging 24 hour project based on the subject Crisis Management – international cases and their consequences and studied
the case studies: British Petroleum, Lufthansa and Volkswagen. They also followed an invitation from the guest lecturer on the MBA programme Dr. Wolfgang Glomb, retired Head of Division at the Ministry of Finance to visit the Ministry of Finance (Bundesfinanzministerium) in Germany´s capital city – Berlin. In the impressive headquarters of the Ministry of Finance they were welcomed by Dr. Holger Fabig, Head of the Division G7/G20 who held a presentation on the objectives of the forthcoming G20 meeting which was held in Ankara in November 2015 and in which
he was actively involved. In the second part of his presentation he discussed current economic issues related to the emerging markets, in particular in India and China and discussed current economic aspects with Indian and Chinese participants. It is planned that the dialogue will continue, this time on the Campus in Strenzfeld as Prof. Dr. Scott is organizing a Symposium with the Institute für Regionalentwicklung und Wirtschaftsförderung (IRW) of which she is Director of in the Summer Semester with Dr. Fabig and Dr. Glomb as guest speakers.
