The Duties of A Human Resources Manager The Human Resource Manager or the HR Manager or the HR, are the managers the are involved and responsible for the functions of training, career development, employee relations, recruitment, compensation and benefits, industrial relations, compliance, disciplinary and grievances issues, employment law, redundancies, etc. It also involves keeping up to date with the changes in the various areas like employment laws, which change often.

In the small and medium sized companies, the Human Resource managers are Generalist, that is, they work in almost all the required fields that come under human resource management and handle all the work of the Human Resource department. But in large companies, the Human Resource Managers tend to be more specialists, each specializing in a certain field of human resource management and thus providing a detailed controlled over each factor.

The Human Resource managers have various duties such as • Taking care of the employee benefits and compensations • Keeping a check on the FLSA Compensable & Overtime rules of the company and maintaining them • Providing the service of supervisor and manager training to the newly recruited managers, or the newly promoted employees for their better functioning • Checking and making Employment Liability Insurance Contracts as per the proper guidelines and maintaining them for the employees • Short-listing applicants for interview and using techniques for selection of good employees • Providing advice on pay and other issues such as benefits, promotion, etc.

The Human Resources manager is a great asset to the company in the field of management of all the employees of the company and keeping a fair environment in the company. An HR is an important part of the company that handles the functioning of employees, maintaining a proper corporate environment and also bringing good employees to the company.
