Hi,I’m Hrithik Shridhar,an aspiring architect from RV College of Architecture, currently pursuing my 8th semester. My other iterests apart from architecture are painting,dancing and music. Architecture has greatly equipped me with problem solving skillset to better design spaces through observations and learning.Through critical analysis and problem solving techniques,I intend to strike a balance between the tangible and intangible aspects of design. All in all,I aspire to design human-centric, sustainable and speculative spaces. SOLAR DECATHLON INDIA ,2021-2022 has greatly inundated me with sustainable ideas and has inculcated good sustainable practices in all of my design endeavours. I intend to explore affordable building solutions that are climate responsive, innovative and resilient. Extremely fascinated with forms and futuristic designs, I aspire to embrace the unexpected in my effortless reach for such visualisations. With utmost ethics and principles, I look forward to further my architectural journey with these learnings and contributing to the ‘Architectural World of Reveries’.

he need to establish and create a dialogue between the built-form and the existing site and thereby reinforcing the idea of the interplay of facades and the way they conflate into being a unified whole. The project sights at the undermining working conditions prevalent in any industrial set-up and strikes a contrast in the way the experiential qualities have been brought about through offsetted views and dramatises the way in which the facades have been brought together. The design is crossed over by a wide curved horizon which ,in its movement,embodies the constant change in the working conditions of an industrial set-up.

he Design proposition for the BUS STOP as an edge insert with respect to the main design looks at the same formal exploration that the factory set-up of the SEVEN manufacturing units offers for the programme. The natural form of the rood as seen in the exploration is capitalized further by making it act as a roof over the parking space which otherwise is a shading device. What if the continuity it holds through one’s life in it’s constant process of learning and unlearning be expresses through lines and surfaces that make up the basics of any object

NEW MODERN SCHOOL OR COLLEGE BUILDINGS ARE DESIGNED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF NEW-AGE LEARNERS AND TO FACILITATE, FOR INSTANCE, FLEXIBILITY IN TEACHING AND LEARNING, COLLABORATION AND CRITICAL THINKING, THEREFORE, CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT OF INDIVIDUAL AND STUDENT-CENTERED LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS HAS BECOME A RELEVANT RESEARCH TOPIC.

he popular designer,Tinker Hatfield, is here in India for an art residency program sponsored by Netflix. He’s here to work on the Art in Transit project. They are to inhabit a live-work space for a period of two years as a part of the residency program that also involves their participation with the community thereby exploring the liminal edge between the inside and the outside. In addition, they are to have neighbours who are also part of the creative community.The negotitation between the clients and their shared spaces is to be explored. This is to be done in collaboration with different interior designers of the studio.The space has to transform and be flexible to be taken into the different spatial conditions. The space given is the green space and an internal street that changes between the weekday and the weekend.It’s proximity to the government institutions like the Vidhan Soudha as well as urban green spaces allows for an interesting dichotomy ,thus allowing the design process to expore different edge conditions.

TINKER’S POD The design ideology revolves around the three basic principles of Hatfield-the ‘re-inventing mesh’,’progress(ion)ive’,and ‘breathable’ spaces. The idea of re-inventing mesh is actuated in the facade’s idea transforming itself into the ceiling elements. The use of tensegrity structure for the supporting ceilings defeat the need for intermediate columnar supports; hence an element of breathable space comes into genesis.

The project SAT-PRANALI is located in PV Kovil street, Mylapore Chennai with 2-storey housing to the north, and a Mediscan building to the south. It is a four floor head office building proposal for Team Global Logistics private limited.

Design Development

We use natural ventilation for the months of Jan, nov, and December, and the predominant winds during these months are from North eastern side which are captured by the large northern windows. Natural ventilation is aided by HVLS fans that increase the air speed. The achieved EPI of 45 kwh/sqm per year which is a reduction of 58% from the basecase. This is done by using passive design strategies such as envelope optimization,natural ventilation and usage of appropriate shading devices. Wind-Rose digrams

n this competition we were invited to design a ‘designers’ work studio which can break the conventional model for small office spaces, and create a space that fosters innovation, collaboration and productivity.

The competition also proposed the studio to be envisioned in a distinctive material character and texture. The brief emphasizes, and is conscious of the need to adapt and reuse building material wherever possible. Hence, rather than constructing something anew, the entire project was proposed to be built from used shipping containers as the key building material.

MISCELLANEOUS WORKS Here’s a delve into the most interesting of all the academic-oriented works, artworks and photography.
