The Howe Lady Bulldogs (3-9) played much bigger schools over the weekend and tried doing so short-handed as injuries have mounted up on the team headed up by Head Coach Derek Lands and his 454 career wins. -12 after the first and 34-23 at the half. Griffin led Howe with 13 points with Teagan Stubblefield following with 11. Other scorers were Stewart (7), Reese Smith (5), Sanders (4), Emery Snapp (3), and Burris (2).

The girls faced off with Aubrey at their place on Friday and took the loss, 48-23. The Howe girls held with the 4A school early in the game, trailing 13-10 after the first period. But Howe trailed 25-16 at the half and were shutout in the third. As if having to play Denison wasn’t bad enough, Howe lost Williams and Avery Snapp to injuries and were missing Presley Shockey to an FFA event. It was a mismatch from the beginning as Denison raced out to a 17-6 lead and cruised from that point on. The final score was 66-32.


The Lady Bulldogs were led by Landery Sanders with seven points, followed by Matalee Stewart with six. Other scorers were Trinity Williams (5), Kendall Griffin (3), and Riley Burris (2).
In tournament action over the weekend, Howe lost to Bowie 6045. The Lady Bulldogs trailed 15 Howe was led by Griffin’s nine points followed by Smith with six. Other scorers were Sanders (5), Stewart (4), Stubblefield (4), and Emery Snapp (4).
Howe then played another large school in Melissa and took a 6130 loss Griffin also went down (Continued on page 16)
