Walter Foster, 79, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed peacefully and was rejoined with his wife on Monday, August 2, 2021. Walter was born in Sherman, TX March 5, 1942 to Harris C. Foster, Sr. and Doris Virginia Bost. He graduated from Howe High School in 1960. In 1963 he married the love of his life Lavon Barnes and moved with her to Chicago, Illinois. After returning to Texas, he worked for 10 years at Alcan Cable as a buyer. After starting a family, when faced with relocating outside of Texas, Walter returned to college to obtain his journeyman electrical license and began working as a buyer at Hurst Electric where he ultimately retired from. During his life he was an active member and past Worshipful Master of Estelle Masonic Lodge No. 582 until his wife's disability. After his wife’s passing to find a connection to community again, Walter found enjoyment learning to dance and prior to COVID restrictions would attend Senior Dances anytime given the opportunity. ters Michelle Foster Thompson and Donna Kay Schroeder and sonin-law, Clifford, grandchildren Phillip Thompson and wife Rachel, Caleb Thompson and Shelby Schroeder, sister Barbara Stambaugh and brother-in-law William Stambaugh, and many nieces and nephews. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

Robert Patrick Hunt was born on August 18,1963 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, TX. A lifelong resident of Howe, TX. Rob went home to the Lord on July 22, 2021 at the age of 57 years old. Rob is survived by the love of his life his wife of almost 37 years Marilyn Burleson Hunt. His children, daughter Kristin Hunt Pruitt and husband, Jason of Howe. Son Justin Patrick Hunt and wife, Katie of Howe.

Rob is also survived by his father Patrick Harrold Hunt of Howe, TX. Two brothers Peter John Hunt and wife, Niki of Howe, and David Richard Hunt and wife, Jonna of Trenton. Brother-in-law’s Bill Zachary and wife, Jill of Hillsboro, TX, Hugh Burleson and wife Robin of Howe, Matt Burleson and wife, Alyssa of Van Alstyne, TX.

Rob was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Hogger Hunt, parents-in-law Hugh and Charlsie Burleson, sister-in-law Lisa Burleson and close relatives KC and Brynlee Robinson. Rob was educated in Howe schools, graduating from Howe High School with the class of 1982. During high school Rob participated in the state champion Pride of Howe marching band, and the Boy Scouts of America, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Following high school Rob attended Texas State Technical Institute in Waco, earning certifications in Diesel engine technology. Rob worked for the largest Ford dealer in Plano for 16 years, continuing his training and getting certified as one of the first Senior Master Technicians by Ford Motor Company. Rob left the Ford dealership to launch his own business, AAAA Automotive, in February 2001, which has grown from a one man shop into one of the leading repair shops in Grayson County today. Rob’s interests outside of work included ranching Texas Longhorn cattle, building and flying Radio Controlled aircraft, and restoring classic muscle cars. A lifelong fan of the Texas Rangers baseball team, Rob also followed the Allen Americans ice hockey team, attending many games with his best friend Marty Burke. Rob and Marty also traveled the US to attend classic car shows and swap meets.

Rob’s most driving passion was the love of his family. His happiest hours were spent playing with his grandchildren Jaden and Conner Pruitt and Hayden and Haven Hunt.

Rob’s Memorial Service and Family Visitation will be held at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, TX at 2:00 pm for Visitation followed by Service at 3:00 pm on August 11, 2021.

The Howe Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs held a spaghetti dinner on Sunday that raised $810 for the Howe Athletic Booster Club. Players from volleyball, football, and cross country turned into waiters and waitresses and served the audience.

Members of the varsity volleyball and varsity football team came to the podium and answered questions about the upcoming season. Head Coach Bill Jehling spoke about the upcoming football season and Head Coach Erin Lopez spoke about the upcoming volleyball season.

This is the first event of this type and is expected to be yearly.
