contest with a 1-6 road record. The Bulldogs jumped out to a commanding early lead of 11-0 over Leonard (4-18, 2-13) before the Tigers finally scored a field goal. Howe’s Cameron Lankford hit two big 3-pointers in the first quarter to help establish the lead. Kolby Taylor had four of his six points in the initial frame that ended with Howe leading 15-8.

In the second quarter, Bulldog senior hybrid guard/high-post knocked down seven of Howe’s 11 points in the quarter. Howe took a 26-14 lead into the half.

Howe’s shooting went cold in the third quarter as the Dogs only converted four free throws for eight minutes, meanwhile allowing eight points to Leonard who rallied within six to enter the fourth.

Howe sophomore guard Austin Haley and junior post Eli Wilson were superb in the final moments as Haley six of his 10 points on the night at the line in the final moments. Wilson used a skyhook for all six of his points in the fourth quarter. Howe rounded out the 48-38 victory for only

their second win on the road which set up the winner-take-all for a playoff berth at Whitewright on Friday.

Haley and Fabacher each led Howe with 10 points and eight rebounds while Lankford had eight points. Other scorers were Jacob Campbell (7), Taylor (6), and Wilson (6).

A beautiful pass from Austin Haley (1) to Jake Fabacher (4) set up

the go-ahead points for Howe with 2.2 seconds remaining.
