Honaker moved to Howe during his seventh grade year along with his sister Catherine (HHS Class of 2016), father Ken and mother Kim. He could very often be found with training at Bulldog Stadium or on the HHS practice field. Honaker was a 3-time AllDistrict selection for the Bulldogs starting for Coach Zack Hudson beginning his freshman year. In May of his junior year Honaker and his family left Howe and relocated to Euless, Texas. By that point he had become a Five Star rated recruit by Kohl’s Kicking and ESPN. He ultimately received nine Division One full scholarship offers, ultimately choosing the Air Force Academy in June of 2017. He played his senior year for 6A-Division 1 perennial powerhouse Euless Trinity where he handled both kicking and punting duties while being selected to the All-District team once again.
During his first year at The Academy Honaker spent some time on the freshman team, ultimately making the varsity roster four games into the season. He saw limited action this season until assuming his kickoff duties versus Hawaii two weeks ago. Air Force is now 7-2 following this past weekend’s win versus service academy rival Army. It’s anticipated that Honaker will assume all kicking duties next year as a junior. He is majoring in Economics and hopes to fly the F35 Lightning after graduation.
