She spoke of her first moments in Howe with a new superintendent and a new high school principal upon her arrival after she had interviewed with a different superintendent and principal There was also a coin flip on which room she would teach from and which classes she would teach In her first faculty meeting, she said others kept asking if she was really Catholic and if she was a "party girl "
"I belonged here because I took a leap of faith and could have left at any time because I kept saying, 'where have I landed? What is going on?'", said Jarma "This community embraced me and if you don't think I know I'm crazy - I am But I'm happy crazy I'm good crazy"
