One student showed the board a lawnmower made of LEGOs with gears and wheels which set off a chain reaction for other gears and connections

Another student said that the program was great for problemsolving and making new friends as well as making simples machines and motors A couple of students displayed an intricate project which was a windmill to generate power

Wilson said the students use an app on an iPad that they can upload videos of their projects and interact with their parents and friends about what they are learning because they were not able to take the LEGO projects home

The fashion of carrying a watch in each waistcoat fob pocket was introduced (though one watch was usually false) in Europe in the sixteenth century Watch fobs consisted of chains or ribbons supporting the

During fob st or e watch I when st n had to be carried in the pocket The term can also refer to ornaments hung at the end of such a ribbon or chain. As the fashion for masculine jewelry passed all that remained of the watch fob was usually a simple chain

The fob (chain) itself can be made of any type of metal such as silver, gold, ribbon, brass, nickel-plate, celluloid, enamelwork, thread, leather, plastic, boar's hair or even braided human hair, which was popular in the Victorian Era Presently, the term "fob" is used interchangeably as the actual chain or cord that attaches to the pocket watch or the pocket watch itself Further, the term "fob" can represent an object other than a pocket watch, such as a medallion, charm, or virtually anything that can fit into a vest or waist pocket

Fobs can be divided into three categories: the simple fob with initials or state seals; fraternal (unions and organizations, including the military); and advertising (proclaiming everything from one's political allegiances to their local bank) In the advertising category, patriotic and political fobs featured such nationalistic emblems as Miss Liberty, a shamrock, or national crests and flags, as well as campaign slogans and images

General advertising fobs touted such products as clothing and food Some collectors focus their collections on fobs that advertised industrial products, from oil-field equipment and materials to tractors

The picture shown has a black crystal hanging from the chain, but I also have one that has an Elk’s tooth designating that the owner was a member of the Benevolent Order of the Elks

Today, watch fobs are still worn for both function and fashion, and they are avidly collected by antique dealers and hobbyists They are still in use to enhance costumes, to hold stop watches, or for those who are still interested in wearing family heirloom watches and accessories
