Great Days of Service getting ready for annual projects
need for volunteers of all ages Families, youth groups, and singles are encouraged to join. Those that sign up early will receive a t-shirt Those that have worked in previous years are encouraged to go green and recycle your shirt and wear last years

The annual Great Days of Service held another board meeting on Wednesday evening at Community Bible Fellowship to discuss the upcoming projects that will be taking place June 22 and 23 throughout the city
As of Friday they had 10 projects including a fun one that includes fire hydrant painting But the other nine are the more typical home repairs such as toilet repair /replace eave repair top roof, carpet removal, window sills repair, ground leveling and fence raising, roof leaking, handrail improvements at two to three locations They'll also be working on brush removal at two locations and weeding gardening at Howe Community Library A large utility size downed pole needs removal and Peggy's Porch bathroom needs a wall repair
The group says they are in dire
Great Days of Service are seeking donations of white, black , silver reflective Rustolum paint, toilet repair kit, One Way Squirrel Trap (for eave repair), cheap paint brushes, Gatorades, bottled water, monetary donations (payable to FUMC Howe Great Days of Service )
The event is from 7:30 am to 3 pm June 22 to 23 Meals will be at FUMC Howe Fellowship Center and everyone is invited
On Friday morning, breakfast will be hosted by Troop 45 Boy Scouts Luch will be at FUMC Howe Saturday morning breakfast will be at FBC Howe and Saturday lunch will be at New Beginnings Fellowship Church of Howe
Saturday night will see a "Closing Cookout Celebration" at Community Bible Fellowship on S Collins Freeway Everyone is invited

The week of July 9-12 is a busy one as the annual Lone Star Hoops Camp takes place at Howe High School on Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day The Hoops camp is always well attended and the cost is $110 if paid before June 30 but jumps to $140 if paid after that date The camp is for entering second graders through entering freshmen.

The same week, Howe will hold a Bullogs Baseball Camp which will take place at the Howe High School Baseball Field from July 9 - 12 from 1 pm - 3:30 pm The cost is $40 and is available to incoming second graders through incoming freshmen

Later in July, the varsity football coaches will host a Howe Bulldogs Football Camp for incoming fourth through eighth graders The date is July 30 through August 1 and will take place from 9 am through 11 am each of those days The cost is $30 and the camp will take place at Bulldog Stadium
