Prelims underway for district track
District prelims began last week with field events and a few running events The incomplete results have the Lady Bulldogs in fifth place with 16 total points while the Bulldogs are in sixth place with 13 points
The Lady Bulldogs' Erin Blackburn and Kasie Segleski each finished second in their heat in the 100 m dash Jamie Taylor finished first in the 200 m in her heat but third overall Marissa Agee finished first in the 400 m and Taylor Hartsfield finished second in her heat Mattie Martin placed third in her heat in the 100 m hurdles while teammate Cally Vick took fifth Bethany Masters had the overall best time in the 300 m hurdles and Martin finished third in her heat The Lady Bulldogs' 16 points came off of Masters second place finish in the triple jump (34'-1") and Ally Harvey's second place finish in the

The Bulldogs' Cade Courtney won his heat in the 100 m dash while Joseph Brennan placed second and Mason Riggs placed third in their respective heats Jordan Jones and Spencer Akins placed sixth in the 200 meters while Sean Lukash finshed fourth in his heat Hunter Cheatham was fourth in the 400 m and Ryan Carney placed fifth Logan Elvington placed sixth in the 3200 m run (12:26 56) which earned Howe one point Chase Clayton was second in the 110 m hurdles while Colton Thurman placed fourth. Those two Bulldogs also placed sixth in the 300 m hurdles Howe's other 12 points came on Ty Harvey's fourth place finish in the high jump (6'-1") and Zimry Weatherspoon's second place finish in the pole vault (12'-0")
Howe Youth Baseball to make improvements to Ferguson Field
Members of the Howe Youth Baseball board met on Saturday to discuss future projects and investments to make due to the recent influx of cash from the 12U pre-season baseball tournament that was held The board decided to make investments in new nail drags and top drags so that each field would be equipped Also, the group approved a purchase of new line strings and a chalk dispenser
One of the biggest decisions the board made was to replace the backstop at Ferguson Field with a new concrete wall and netting similar to North Field at Bicentennial Park Construction is to begin immediately following the season this summer
